![]() | Re: WALL•E Attraction Coming to Tomorrowland? a little of topic but has anyone heard anymore info on the WALL-e robot that was going to go on sale in a few weeks? The one that was a couple hundred dollars and had all kind of movement. The reason i ask is because about a week ago a friend of mine told me they wre getting ready to start the promotional packages for the stores. they included standies and posters. At the last minute the advertisement packages were put on hold and was told by someone else that they believe it was due to the possible cancellation of the product. seems like the manufacturer might be having trouble producing enough of the robots for a specific time period. Anyone know if its true and if they have stopped taking pre-orders or are they still allowing that. |

![]() | Re: WALL•E Attraction Coming to Tomorrowland? i think he is still being used for promotional use internationally. I believe the movie still has not open in some international regions. I believe one of those major regions is Japan. The movie opens in December. The movie also just opened or is about to open in Germany. supposedly there were two of those robots made and were being used for movie premiers |

![]() | Re: WALL•E Attraction Coming to Tomorrowland? I really liked the characters in WALL•E, but was not crazy about the film itself. I think the ending was weak. It is a good film, but probably ranks as my least favorite Pixar offering. As soon as I saw the film, perhaps even before seeing it, I resigned myself to the notion that the characters would end in in Tomorrowland at Disneyland in some way, shape, or form. I hope it is not a big presense in the park. What bothers me about Tomorrowland now is that it has turned into a big mish mash of things. It used to be that most of Tomorrowland's attractions seemed to go together thematically. Now we have the multiple film/TV franchise tie-ins of Star Wars, Buzz Lightyear, Honey I Shrunk/Blew-Up/Jumped-the-Shark, and Nemo (which don't really gel together) with Space Mountain, Autopia, Innoventions, and the Monorail. It's a hodgepodge that is only loosely connected at best. Not to beat a dead horse from other threads, but the Tomorrowland of the past (circa 1967) at least had attractions that were complimentary to each other rather than contradictory. There was a theme that flowed through all the attractions, shops, and restaurants. The other lands still have that (except don't get me started on Winnie the Pooh in Critter Country). Any make-over of Tomorrowland should restore that cynergy. I'm skeptical that it will, though. To be honest, I would not be surprised to see a WALL•E overlay placed on Space Mountain. But I think it more likely that a WALL•E attraction/film is destined for HISTA's theater. |
