[10-5] Sunrise in the Kingdom of the Mouse: Pics and More

And now, sunrise over each of the four Mountains

Not running yet. An early-morning cruise would have been neat.

To be continued, of course. Some more detailed commentary in trip-report format will be referenced after I complete it. I thought you might like these early-morning pictures right off.

Great pictures! I saw you in the haunted mansion around 7:30 but you were really busy taking pictures so I didn't bother you. Great sunrise shots!

Another great trip report! This past 2 days it's been like "gotta gotta collect them all" with all the trip reports coming at us. Love every single last one of them. Thanks for yet another on the happy pile.

Ahh, so it was you after all; I had forgotten exactly who.

Oh well, maybe next time.

Still working on it. Here's some more:
~~~~
Haunted Mansion Holiday
The other of the Big Three, or rather the Big Two today because Fantasmic! is dark
~~~~
Indy--with a ten-minute wait

~~~~
Getting kind of dirty
End result of three rounds of Buzz. First was 727.4k/10th, this one was second, and third was 852.6k/9th. Three of three in the top 10.
I saw the princesses for the first time. Presented in the finest Capt. Hook's tradition: ;-)
Parade of Dreams
More to come. The TR version is still in progress.
The more photos that I see of the Mansion, the more excited that I get about seeing it, in person in December.
Re: [10-5] Sunrise in the Kingdom of the Mouse: Pics and More
Guess what: more HMH pictures!!!!
Part 3 of 3
~~~~

C'mon, get it fixed! If it's not taken care of quickly, guests will just pick at it and make it worse. (This is the same spot as the big peeled area earlier this year.)

More Haunted Mansion Holiday pictures!!!!
(well, a few more)

It was one of those wall-to-wall times, probably caused by everyone using their fastpasses before closing.

~~~~
The major geek-out episode occurred around now (Fantasmic! fans, take note!). See the commentary version for the full deal. For those of you just looking at this Picture Edition, I'll spare you, for the most part.
~~~~

New surface looks nice. It appears the grid lines are being added afterwards, and aren't yet complete in areas.

And then, the "good" aspect of my day would pretty much come to an end, although my day was far from over. A final round of Buzz closed out the day. 695.3k/52nd.

Although taken earlier, this was about the finals of the day.

The Dumbness Cluelesses, clearly depicted here on the public Internet

(well, almost clearly)
saw fit to blatantly cut directly in front of me at the BLAB terminals and then take an interminable time messing around. Although a firm (but not rough) hand on the shoulder might have been appropriate here, I was currently obliged to a standard that wouldn't allow it, and probably wouldn't even if I weren't subject to this restriction. After administering the Flash of Retribution as depicted above, I went to another one instead. (They were blissfully clueless the whole time.) The thing is, this was just after park closing and, although not a HUGE deal, I wanted to get my pic before things got shut off. Heed this: those who inappropriately cross me may indeed face consequences by my hand for their conduct, in this case potential bad publicity. But these individuals can be glad it was me they crossed, and not somebody who might react much more severely, possibly physically, possibly violently.

~~~~
The mass exodus from the park--and to DCA for most no doubt.
~~~~
DCA for the Rest of the Day

Shortly after getting here, I met our very own MickeyMousePal! Not surprisingly, he found me; with my wacky vision I'd likely never be able to spot anyone from here. It's fun when this happens.

One of seversl shots for an HDR candidate. I'll try and make one later.

I wanted to get in several rounds of Midway Mania, and did. Alas, this and some other rides are not much in my future. It's this insistence on always pairing people up. It applies to Screamin' and probably others too. I simply AM NOT comfortable joining someone in a two-seat arrangement unless I know it's cool with them; it's a potential personal space intrusion on my part even though the ride operations dictate there shouldn't be one. If there's a conflict (like they don't want anyone next to them and didn't bother speaking up about it), I could end up in limbo, unable to board, and possibly into a "shutdown situation", stalling things and possibly mucking up the ride operations. I don't know how to handle these sorts of situations. However, as I've said before, anyone is welcome to join me, so if I always board first I'll never be involved in such a conflict. (Plus I can and will signal that the other person is welcome to join me so they don't end up in the situation I'm trying to avoid; other guests are highly unlikely to do that.) Here's the thing: if I had a concise and and immediately and universally understood means of communicating this at load time, the issue could be permanently solved. But I don't know how to go about making something like this happen, as well as communicating this so that it's not misunderstood. As is, my interest in these rides has been severely squashed. Screamin' isn't a priority. But I really do enjoy TSMM and don't want to miss out, however my well-being takes precedence.
Another issue with TSMM is some poor CM conduct while in line: having hours and hours of hard work downplayed and flat-out disregarded is upsetting. Only a little bit upsetting, given the circumstances, but upsetting nonetheless. The "show" and "stage" cease to exist when this happens. It becomes the usual "customer" and "employee" instead. It being over a disguised intercom makes no difference. A humorous insult is very possible; disrespecting a person's efforts isn't necesssary. (Headphones, player and getting the lead out while in the applicable location would solve this problem actually.)

If anyone's interested, scores for three rounds were 163.1k/23%, 141.8k/20%, and 162.7k/28%.

~~~~
Pixar Play Parade
~~~~

Yippee--lookie what I finally found! *gets giddy and giggly and starts jumping up and down*

Some of the other aspects of the Animation Academy are unclear. The room with the kinetoscopes was obvious. In a nearby room were terminals with what appeared to be a "what character are you like" questionnaire. Unfortunately, because of it being too blasted busy plus a lack of organization, I could have been there six hours and still not gotten a chance. A dark room themed like a forest had terminals whose purpose I'm not certain about. Going by observation, it looked like you said lines or something and it'd be incorporated into an animation. Not a bleeping chance I'm doing that--sorry: can't talk well enough to begin with for any chance of it functioning, if it worked like I thought.

Farewell, Sun Wheel! Forever will your fair face be missed
I'm glad I got another chance to get some good pictures. It'll no doubt be switched over to Mickey's Fun Wheel by my next visit.

~~~~
Day's end. While in the big store near the entrance, the unmistakeable detonations of fireworks across the way at Sweet 16 prompted a mass exodus outside to watch them. (This had the effect of giving the CMs at the store an easier time of closing up.) And with that, it was a wrap.
See you around Christmas!
~~~~
And now, for those interested, I have completed the full version with commentay and additional pictures. Techie and Fantasmic! fans, take note: I have successfully identified several pieces of equipment on the tower-B console. Sorry, but I'm no longer posting personal TRs in-forum, they will be henceforth on my own space. Please go here to see the commentary version.

Enjoy!

Thanks for all the pictures HL. I will try and go to Disneyland everytime it is open that early. It has such a great feeling with no crowds, the cool air on zero lines.

Thanks again for posting the pictures.

Man you need to calm down. Yes they had no right to cut infront of you, but you flashing pictures in their face and following them out and snapping more pictures, imao, makes you just as bad or maybe worse.
