Big supporter of Disney...like that's a bad thing? And where exactly did I say that I was a big supporter of Marty Sklar? Sure, I probably berated the plethora of hateful web comments that scathingly lambasted him and his letter to the Disney community, but that doesn't necessarily mean I want to be head of Sklar's fan club. What's with the tar & feather mentality? I find it extremely ironic that the ones yelling the hateful comments at Sklar & the current Disney regime for changing small world are the same ones saying that they love the old attraction for its pure spirit and message of unity. Anyone else see the irony?

    I sure see it.

(By the way, I don't think I've ever thanked you for all the photos you've posted - they've been very entertaining and, in many cases, very informative as reference for my 3D model. So...thank you! )

You are welcome, Datameister. I did a quick look through my site and found no rainforest photos, either. Here's one vintage 1960ís shot from the original World's Fair...this is the only thing I have that is remotely close to a rainforest!

So I will echo some of the other commentsin this thread, too...more irony to be found that nobody is able to cough up photos of this "beloved" scene.

Also, not everyone has to have something nice to say about Al. He may be a reliable source of news and a darn good website owner, but that doesn't mean everyone has to like him.

It never really existed thats why we have no photos of the rainforest scene! Nothing to see here, move along.

Oh Lord. It's coming this Thursday. I'm not whether to be nervous or exited. Nonetheless, I'm sure we'll all going to miss the original IASW.

Not me, I hated IASW and I am not going to act like I care about the changes good or bad. I will probably still hate it once it reopens.

BTW from an artistic sense the original IASW was lost once the World Fair closed.

The rainforest is not gone... so how can it be dead? I have no problem with the abridged version. I feel it flanks the Polynesian room very well as it starts with Mermaids in water and now ends with animals in a rainforest.

and speaking of the mermaids all they are doing is changing the hair on one of them to make it ariel... kids for years have considered them to be ariel... so big whoop!

Some pics of the rainforest scene:

I would truthfully be more angry if they removed the mermaid scene though.
My adventures in Wonderland began when I followed the White Rabbit down the rabbit hole. All of the sudden--I fell! Down... down... down...
