Yeah, and to be accurate, the American dolls are gonna need some extra fiberglass to fit the correct waistline

I hate to throw trash at Dave's site - because I do think some of the stuff he has is brilliant - but he's a big supporter or Sklar and Disney and has nothing good to say about Al Lutz.

About the poll - I voted disappointed. I think if WDI has taken out the rainforest section and replaced it with a US scene, given the current state of the environment, their timing is horrible. Is anyone really thinking?

The addition of the Disney characters is a pure marketing ploy, no matter if they fit the Mary Blair style or not. If they do fit the Mary Blair style and aren't noticeable, why add them in the first place? Bottom line, like everything else that Disney has become, it's a matter of making a buck. What do you want to bet that the store outside the attraction will feature these Small World-ized Disney characters?

People say that we don't know what Walt would think about these changes - and they are right, we don't know what Walt would think. But we can probably guess what he would think based on the foundation he laid for his company and for Disneyland. While he marketed his park as vigorously as anyone, he did it with the objective of adding to it - not fattening the bottom line. His marketing was done with appreciation of quality. The continued use of his ideas of adding to the park or changing the park by the Disney company to support the changes that are happening - Small World, Court of Angels - is taking his thoughts totally out of context. His change was not this kind of change.

Its no surprise that Marty Sklar lied - its pretty obvious that he's possessed by the Corporate Disney. Yes, Walt Disney did suffer little for people who didn't follow his ideals. Marty would have been out on his *** years ago.

Finally, to those who think that this change will not affect the quality of Disneyland - not make it another Six Flags - the reason is because Disneyland had such a strong foundation based on the ideals of Walt Disney. But that foundation is eroding - bit by bit, piece by piece. Today It's a Small World is negatively affected, the Court of Angels, tomorrow it may be one of your favorite attractions. How about putting Baloo in the Jungle Cruise? How about cutting some of the pyrotechnic effects from Fantasmic? How about slowing Space Mountain down so that you can find Buzz Lightyear? Disneyland may still be leaps above Six Flags, but with the wrong management it won't take long for Six Flags to eclipse it. Think Paul Pressler.

Re: Memories of the original Small World. R.I.P Small World Rainforest.

mr. Wiggins talks about this exact thing and will not be renewing his pass or visiting the park this coming year as protest. Unfortunatly the way the annual pass program has turned disneylands main visitors into local pass holders that need to be enticed to return often and buy souvenirs and food. The thinking goes that since these visitors do not pay a gate fee for each visit that this must be offset by getting them to return more often (buy adding new features to current attractions etc.) to make more purchases, this has sped up turning the park into a " themed mall with rides" and a membership requierment ala costco. Since Disney is a giant corporation and Disneyland is it's cash cow, I don't see this pattern changing. What I wish the parks would do is figure out how to more effectivley balance this and prevent loss of theme and specific magic show elements that keep Disneyland special , the idea of keeping the guest hidden from everyday reality gets eoded faster and faster with all the time share hawkers and cart after cart selling junky flashy lights. You feel like your at a nice mall all that is missing is shopping carts. I hope that Disneyland gets a new leader that can help restore balance to the force.

It takes a Vader to conceive a Luke.

Er...a noble WDI veteran who will be slain by Jay Rasulo, only to come back in spirit form to guide our young Luke...? This analogy isn't going anywhere good...except perhaps the part where Rasulo throws Pressler into a pit and dies in Luke's arms, having seen the light side of the Force once more.

IMPORTANT: In all seriousness, I do not advocate any assassination attempts on Darth Rasulo or other members of his galactic empire.
