Re: What camera do you use?

THis is my baby (DMC-FZ50 | PRODUCTS | LUMIX | Digital Camera | Panasonic Global) Panasonic Lumix FZ50. I love it worth every cent. It's not a SLR but it close enough. I took it on my honeymoon and it impressed me. For me I like to have a camera I have full control over (Focus and stuff). And with a 12x optical zoom it's great. I aslo did my homework and when I went looking on differn't sites and asking around everyone I spoke to said this was a great camera at the time. I am better there are better ones out there. But this one is the best for me.

This camera takes JPG and RAW pictures. I have mine to take both at the same time. Works great. A+++++++++++++++++++++

HEre is a picture I took with it (jpg form)

AND to show detal here

Thats mine Well good luck and DO YOUR HOMEWORK. Talk to people they help the most.

Re: What camera do you use?

Thanx Matt! If I recall, weren't you the one testing out a D40 a while back. It was those posts that really influenced my purchase. The detail and quality, yet simplicity, were big points for me. You also raved about the kit lens. This was important because I knew I was not going to be able to afford to go much beyond that. I did get a great deal to add the 55-200mm for $100 though.

Keep the posts coming folks. It is really neat to see the differences between DSLR and point-and-shoot. Some you can't even tell.

Re: What camera do you use?

I have two DSLR cameras that I use.

The first one is the Sony A-350 and it was taken with a Tamron 70-300mm lense:

The second camera I have is a Cannon EOS XSi taken with a 18-55 mm lense:

Re: What camera do you use?

I use a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi. Photos I take with it can be found in my weekly Dateline Disneyland column here on MiceChat and MiceAge.

Also, I have plenty of photos on my flickr photostream, too.

What I have seen here inspired me to buy a new camera, a Nikon D40 with an 18-55mm and 55-200mm lens, also an SB-400 flash. I am having so much fun with it, but I know it will not see DL until late next year.

With all the help I got here choosing the D40, I thought it would be cool to have a thread devoted to camera choice. So, here's the rules: tell us what camera you use and post one (only one!!) of your most favorite DLR pictures taken with it.

I'll start. This was taken last August with my previous camera, a Kodak Z740, a regular point-and-shoot. I just love how the sky matches the lighting on the mountain.

*Gives high five to Chiefyouth*

Nice shot, and nice choice of camera. I use a Nikon D80 but am hoping to somehow justify spending the cash to move up a notch to the D90, which shoots video, has 12 megapixels, and is rumored to shoot nicely with higher ISO for those oh so hard to get HM and night shots.

I think this is one of my favorite shots so far....

Re: What camera do you use?

Wow, you guys all take amazing pictures.

I roll with a Canon 40D, my lens collection is ever-changing. But I'd say that my $50 50mm f/1.8 is my go to lens for Disneyland.

Here's my "favorite" shot. (I put the quotes there because I don't really have a favorite. None of pictures have yet to stand out as a great shot, but I'm still tryin')

And since everyone else is doing it. Here's one when I had my XTi.
