What camera do you use?

I poke around here a lot and every once in a while will pop in on a conversation. My favorite thing is seeing all of the pictures. I live in Oregon, so I only get to the park about once a year, if I am lucky. The pictures keep me excited.

What I have seen here inspired me to buy a new camera, a Nikon D40 with an 18-55mm and 55-200mm lens, also an SB-400 flash. I am having so much fun with it, but I know it will not see DL until late next year.

With all the help I got here choosing the D40, I thought it would be cool to have a thread devoted to camera choice. So, here's the rules: tell us what camera you use and post one (only one!!) of your most favorite DLR pictures taken with it.

I'll start. This was taken last August with my previous camera, a Kodak Z740, a regular point-and-shoot. I just love how the sky matches the lighting on the mountain.

Re: What camera do you use?

Should it be our favorite picture at Disneyland, or just favorite overall?

Re: What camera do you use?

Sorry, I should have specified. I think given this is a DL board, then it is only right that it is your favorite from the DLR. Anything from Disneyland, DCA, or Downtown.

Well since this is in the Disneyland forum, its probably best to keep the pics of Disneyland.... or the thread could get moved to another forum.

Taken with my Nikon L5 point and shoot.

Re: What camera do you use?

I use a Canon Digital Rebel XT with three prime lenses (24mm, 50mm, and 100mm). I really don't do a whole lot of artistic photography in the park - many of my favorite photos were taken primarily for reference purposes, but they're not particularly beautiful or artistic in and of themselves. The Rebel gives me the resolution, image quality, and control that I need for getting the shots to be useful and/or pretty.

I suppose if I'm going to post just one semi-artistic photo, I'll go with this one, simply because it's different and there's no WAY it could have been done with a point-and-shoot.

I'll cheat and let you know that this shot and this one were the runner-ups. ;D

EDIT: I'm loving that shot, penguinsoda.

In real life I use a Canon 10D with the 28-135IS or 50mm f1.8.

At Disneyland I use my Lomo Fisheye.

Re: What camera do you use?

Olympus E-520. I chose it instead of a rebel xTi because of the lenses. On ebay I got the camera, a 14-42mm lens and a 40-150mm lens for $700. The Camera and only the 14-42mm lens retails for about $650. I read many reviews stating how the kit lenses from olympus are much better than canon or nikon kit lenses. Of course there are factors that separate all of them, but the E-520 was perfect for me.

I'm really new to photography, so I wanted something I could grow into, and I am pretty good at catching onto complicated things.

I took the following shots this past weekend.

Re: What camera do you use?

Greetings all,

Long time reader, first time poster. I use a Nikon D80 with an 18-135mm lens.

I really don't have a favorite DL photo. I take an average of 300 shots each trip. But this is a pic from the Marathon weekend that I am very proud of.
