    Re: Worst Trip to Disneyland?

I will agree that a not so great day is better than no day. That said, my xsil and her now XH took us for our first visit back in '97 I think. The girls got really cranky because it was hot and their parents fought and bickered the whole time. They got so mad at each other that one took one girl and was headed back to the hotel so she could nap and the other followed arguing the whole way. He said they got in a big argument up by the gates and two off duty cops interneved and told them they were ruining it for everyone around them. They could either cool it or they'd have them escorted out.

It just put tension on the whole rest of the trip.

Enjoying the warmth and sunshine of Phoenix between Disney trips.

    Re: Worst Trip to Disneyland?

My "worst" wasn't terrible but it really made for an uncomfortable trip to the parks. My friends boyfriend (at the time) was being a whiny, obnoxious boy and trying to ruin the trip for both of us. Needless to say, my friend and I were able to have a good time regardless of the moron.

They broke up not even a week later.

See?! Disneyland fanatics will have nothing mess with their happy!!

    Re: Worst Trip to Disneyland?

My worst trip is when I was very sick. We had already booked the room and planned the whole trip with my family, so i could not back out.

The first night I felt so horrible i went back to the room to sleep.....you would have to know my mother for this one...but that really pissed her off and when they got back to the room there was a huge fight about it. My daughter wanted to stay with me, but my mother insisted she go with them and there was a scene with that. I was so angry i did not want to be in the room anymore so I started to walk over to the theater in DTD to watch a movie (national treasure) I figured I could still rest and take my mind off what had happened.

On the way to the theater I met my daughter who was walking back to the hotel to be with me, so we both saw the movie and the night ended pretty good with my daughter. By the time we got back to the hotel my parents were sleeping and like any ture dysfunctional family in the morning the fight was not mentioned It was as if it did not happen.

When we got to the parks my parents wanted to go off by themselves. I had no objections. i still felt really sick and my daughter wasn't feel well by that point. It was also raining. We went on the mark twain and just sat (my daughter was laying down) on this box they have on one of the decks out of the rain. We were both half a sleep.

We ended up leaving DL early that day. My mother had decided my daughter was sick, but apparently I still wasn't sick enough in her eyes....

this was a CP weekend and the CP was canceled on the second night I believe due to rain.

I suppose, but I don't go to work when I'm sick.

About 5 years ago, we stayed at the Crowne Plaza, they were offoring a great deal. We usually stay on Harbor Blvd. We started the day OK, then about noon I started feeling ill. Told my dd that we needed to go. We walked over to get our hotel bus. The whole time I was thinking, "I can't throw up on Disneyland". I was very green at that point! Did manage to on until we got back to the hotel. Sick the next 12 hours or so. Missed a day of our vacation, food poisoning!
This is my worst day at Disneyland, though, I didn't make it out of the park. While sitting in the hub I tried frantically to plan my escape ....but it was more escaping the bench I was on, and getting to a restroom than actually out of the park. I was considering all options.....the garbage can across the street, the grass behind me....it was frightening! Thankfully I made it to the restrooms in Adventureland and there was the nicest CM in there blocking the stalls next to me to give me a little privacy.

    Re: Worst Trip to Disneyland?

I seriously hope our worst day didn't contribute to any others guest's worst day as well. My DS is a bit unstable. She becomes less stable when she is not able to, shall we say, smoke a certain substance 24/7. On our trip to DL last December, she was not able to do what she wanted (smoke) when and as much as she wanted. She actually ended up leaving her bag, filled with the stinky stuff, in our room at DLH after she had checked out. She went to the park early so we called her and told her to come fetch it and put it in her car for the day. She had spent the previous day with us and all was well. The next day, however, she had a friend with her who she was showing off for. My DS and DH have always had a silly, joking relationship. He thought she would find the humor in a double wet willy. He found out he was wrong when she turned on him viciously screaming over and over at the top of her lungs that he was a disgusting, *ucking, *$$hole in front of the Jungle Cruise. When she started on him the 3rd time I told her that was enough. They went their way and we went ours. I haven't spoken to her since. It was embarrassing and upsetting since she was not raised that way. There were so many families with little ones who probably witnessed her rage attack. We were pretty upset the rest of the evening. My DH felt horrible since he never thought she would react like that. My apologies to anyone who may have been unfortunate enough to be in the area. BTW ...... we are all in our late 40's and early 50's so no excuse for not knowing any better. Now we just keep thinking of when we can afford to have a do over trip.

A double wet-willy does not call for an outrageous display as you describe....I'm sorry you had to deal with that. If your DS is not stable, maybe 'help' should be sought?

    Re: Worst Trip to Disneyland?

Have never had a bad visit to Disneyland, even when it was pouring rain.

For my worst visit I'll go with the day in April 1996, when I rode the teacups back-to-back times. This wasn't the neutered barely-spin teacups of 2008 mind you, these were the super fast teacups of Yesterland.

I was feeling ill after round one, and am still not sure why I rode again, spinning as fast as I could no less. I was very close to physical illness after that. I honestly don't think I've felt worse in my life. I vividly recall lying on a bench, wishing the spinning and pain would stop.

Fortunately, of course, the sensation went away fairly quickly and I was on my merry way.

Not when you end up with explosive diarrhea in the restooms between Main St. and Tomorrowland about 15 years ago, then having to manage to drive 50 miles home. Worst.day.ever.

    Re: Worst Trip to Disneyland?

I've never had a bad time at DisneyLand, and I won't get into any details, but in 1981 I had the worst trip ever to DisneyWorld - I was 11 years old and it soured me on the whole Disney experience. I didn't return to a Disney park until my son was 3 years old in 1999. I have been a Disney fan ever since.

    Re: Worst Trip to Disneyland?

The only time I actually wrote a letter of complaint to Disneyland was during the 50th. The park seemed to be oversold and at fireworks time the combination of parkhoppers combined with the various areas closing down funneled so many people on to main street, I literally saw people fainting with only a CM with a flashlight standing above them for protection.
Once I a saw a father physically punch his young son so hard (for sneezing), security hauled the guy away and that ruined my day. I (and several others) wanted to knock the guy down ourselves. The SOB was brutal. As I say, it upset me so badly I left the park.

Cool Re: Worst Trip to Disneyland?

The worst day I've had was when I was sick. So my dad, brother, and I head to the park. We just walked around and enjoyed the scenery for a couple of hours. Yeah, not bad at all.

Alright I'll admit it!!! I've never had a bad time at Disneyland.

It would be a toss up between the trip with the 12 year old nephew who didn't want to do anything, he just wanted to go home, and finally sat down on the ground by The Mark Twain and wouldn't get up or look at us or talk to us. For over a hour. Or....
The October trip a few years ago when it was close to 100 degrees out and there was thick ash in the air from a fire. You could see the big pieces. We left after about 45 minutes.
