They ride on the "river rafts" to TSI.

You can see them from the train sometimes.
Well, light travels from the sun. Then, bounces off of our planet, and back into our eyes so we can perceive color. My body can intercept that light and dance around on it!

And now that were on the topic, I've always wondered where exactly the queue tunnel for the Rocket Rods was at, and was it built for the attraction? I know it probably was because there was no reason for it before. Just wondering...

No clue on if it was there before. It's still there though just not used for guests obviously...

There is no tunnel to TSI. If I am called for a key service to the Island I have to call for a raft to take me there. Likewise, if anyone else needs to get to the Island, it is by raft.

I've been in a couple tunnels under Disneyland, and I know one came out near the Hungry Bear. It's been 17 years, so I don't remember details.

The tunnel that comes out near Hungry Bear comes from backstage and leads to the elevator that comes up into the Hungry Bear kitchen, or alternately, to the doors which open on-stage into the lower Hungry Bear seating area (near the restrooms).

I believe the tunnel underneath Tomorrowland was built during the 1967 redo, when the entire land was gutted. Walt was already well underway with his Florida Project. A sort of test for the Magic Kingdom's utilidor system and what would have been E.P.C.O.T's multiple layers of traffic.

"There are no "utilidors" (underground corridors) at Disneyland; there are only unconnected underground storage and office areas (New Orleans, Fantasyland, and Tomorrowland have the biggest ones, in that order)."

Read it yourself. Kevin Yee spent some time employed at DL and by his account - spent some time underground at DL. I tend to believe him...

I have had one former CM confirm this tunnel does INDEED exist.

I heard it's leaky (since it runs under the Rivers of America). It's not exactly safe ... So it remains closed to EVERYONE. It's in an abandoned state as far as I know.

And just to confirm any confusion - "Magic Kingdom" is refered to the magic kingdom park in WDW. All "Disneyland" parks are refered to as Magic Kingdom parks - btw.

There is NO such tunnel at Disneyland leading from the mainland to TSI.

As 10-8atDisneyland said, everything gets to and from the island via raft, including food (back when there was limited food service on the island).

Hmmm. If it did exist, it certainly could have been closed down since I was a kid. We're talking (ahem) 30+ years ago here. If it is closed there would be no reason for current CMs to know about it.

Any CMs out there from about 1973-76 know what we're talking about?

If there were a hidden tunnel, Zap would have found it by now.

Re: Tunnel under Tom Sawer Island?

I have been told it exists, but that it's too dangerous to use. (I was told that in 1998). I've been in the other tunnel, the one that runs from Innoventions to TLT and supposedly ends at Ariel, but I've never gone past TLT, so I really don't know where it ends, other than what I've heard. For all I know, there could be some connection to the TSI tunnel - but I doubt it. Anyway, I'm pretty sure the TSI tunnel exists but is closed.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...
