It makes sense that that there would be a tunnel. I mean, if you were designing Disneyland back in 1953-54, wouldn't you want a way to get CMs and supplies to the Island without using the rafts that were intended for guests only. Especially if you were offering food service as they did at the Fort for many years.
It also makes sense that it could have deteriorated to the point where it was unsafe and unusable in the last 50 years.
But then again, I could have imagined the whole thing...

I read there is a small tunnel.. thats mostly for industrial things like pipes and other types that runs understound.. and is not reallt big rnough for anyone to use daily.. maybe for emergency...
How does a tunnel become unsafe to use? That seems to me that it would have to be at a point where collapse was highly possible. If such a tunnel exists and was in such a state I can't see it just sitting there. All you would be doing is waiting for the Rivers of America to eventually break through.

I'm also a former CM and I don't know what the couple former CM's had been smoking but I can tell you, along with Kevin Yee, that there is NO tunnel to and/or from TSI. Period. Never has, and never was.
In fact, the only tunnel back there is the one the Train goes thru to get to the Toon Town train station.
The only "tunnels" that exist are in Tomorrowland.
There is a closed "tunnel" that was open to guests on TSI that reaches from just under the suspeded bridge to the back of the fort. It was closed in the early eighties for being unsafe. (In otherwords... there were a lot of rats inside. Gross, but true) There is no tunnel that connects the island to the rest of the park. There were two "tunnels" built as non-guest areas for Fantasmic! If you spend some time on the island, you'll figure out where they are. Happy hunting.
Basic rule of thumb: CMs are not at liberty to reveal backstage secrets. So if you ask them something backstagy that reveals the magic (rendering it useless forever), then expect a made-up story.
Case in point: the tunnel to DL's TSI. So many people claim that there is a tunnel, yet no one knows where it starts and where it ends? Yet no one's actually been in it?Amazing.

It's possible. And this was recent? Or in a dream?
Let's go from a logical POV:
1. Tunnel would be as short as possible.
2. Ends would have to be accessible by Cast Members only.
3. It's likely to have been there since original construction. as it's easier to build a ditch and then fill over it than it is to tunnel through.
4. To get the best mileage out of it, a vehicle should be able to drive through it. Something as small as an electric cart used in airports to ferry a couple passengers to gates.
5. It has to be ramped softly so people and carts could get through, but deep enough to get under the ROA, including reinforcement.
Possible routes:
1. North to backstage.
2. West to backstage.
3. South to backstage.
OK, find yourself some old overhead shots and see what's possible. There are also some old books with photos during construction. Perhaps there is a picture in any one of these of a "tunnel to TSI." When you run out of the possibles, only the impossible remains.

Though I have no first hand knowledge, I had heard of a tunnel, and that it had been closed as "unsafe." Considering the fort at one time sported a snack shop it seems entirely possible to me that it might have been supplied as such.
However, Tom Sawyer Island opened a year after Disneyland and it's constuction was completed by "floating" the materials across the ROA, so the addition of a tunnel would have had to have been built after the the ROA was filled - that seems less likely.
Another thing to consider is Fantasmic, which had some rather extensive (and deep) additions to the ROA to fit in the pyro and other effects. It could be that any tunnel that once existed was condemend to make room for this stuff.
