The ONLY time I have used my phone at Disneyland was for calling the GCH to see if our room was ready. My husband will occasionally use the cell phone to check voicemail for work reasons.
It amazes me how much folks use/depend on their cell phones. I guess I'm old school (or just old...), but in the years before cell phones - if I was out-and-about and I had something really important to tell/ask, I would make a call from a pay-phone. I would never have just gone and used a payphone to see what my mates were up to, I would call my mates from my home.
I find it strange to be at someplace like Disneyland and have the need to call and talk to 'X' about my cat or laundry... Weird. With very few exceptions, my husband and I both actually keep our phones off, and we also do not give out our cell phone numbers ~ even to family. Yes it maybe weird, but our families know to leave voicemail at our home phone.
The only time I called someone from Disneyland other than hotel staff, was on Grad Nite (1984) from the group phone rooms they used to have in Tomorrowland - anyone remember those? I believe they were by America Sings. Anyway, my best friend and I had to call our mother's to let them know we were OK.
Thanks for starting such an Interesting thread!
