I must say that it was great to step back and just enjoy the overall positive buzz from the average park guest. The pathway was as busy as I had ever seen it and there was pure excitement in the air.

The wording for Cars land though... I kinda feel like I need more water to swallow that pill. Just tell it how it is. It's a land for uber successful new franchise.

I think that WDI sees Cars Land very differently than marketing as usual, thus we get WDIs take on what the land is all about in these posters, not what marketing is focussed on. As I've said before, I have a feeling that in the park, the area will feel like two related lands, Radiator Springs and Route 66, but marketing will call the entire area Cars Land. Personally, I hope over time the Cars Land name fades away and we are left will Route 66 and Radiator Springs only.

I cant help but notice how similar the artwork/design for Cars Land is to the artwork we saw for Grizzly River Run (Condor Flats) in The Disney Mountains: Imagineering At It's Peak.

Maybe the same artist??

Makes me wonder if these two pieces are part of one very large image...
If so, where can I get my hands on it??

Hopefully if we ever get a Disney Gallery back they will offer some DCA Expansion concept art on the Print-On-Demand... or heck - if they're smart they'll have a souvenir corner in the Blue Sky Cellar with prints and other concept art merch!

Some of the same artists are working at Disney. The rendering for the Cathay Theater was done by the same artist who did the Tower of Terror rendering, for example.

I'd prefer CARBURETOR COUNTY or something.

Carburetor County would be really cool. Only mentioned once in the movie so it's kind of obscure, but gets the point across. The open is still 3+ years out so there is plenty of time for the name to change and morph.

So would I! It is a really great map. It reminds me of the map they had at DIsneyland a few years ago that had all the rides with little cartoon whimsey elements all over it.

Keep in mind that this park map reflects a DCA circa 2012. Anything can happen from here until then so if things change, perhaps they'll sell an updated version.

It'd be cool if they sold it though. I remember when they sold lithos of DCA concept art to cast members before DCA opened. I got my hands on only a few of those.

The beer garden will be happening in phase one.

Quick note the park map is not to scale. It also shows things that will most likely not be there in the future. Also pathways are not exactly in the location as the final finished layout.

best way to see the diferences is to compare the overal park map with the actual overhead view of Cars Land. otice all the diferences in walkways and landscaping. Oh by the way Cars Land is also a candidate for a couple future attractions so the one large building next to the round structure could very well be the artist interpretation of another darkride for the near future

thats not exactly correct. notice the TOT structure and layout and compare it to the actual Tower in the park. the actual tower has the exit on the left side. the picture has the exit and court area on the right side

as far as i know the area will still be an open air stage and the map is just an artistic represention of the area. It looks better to draw buildings with facades instead of ugly industrial structures.

I do like the idea of closing the walkway into the backlot next to muppets though and just leaving a wide open walkway at the end of the street into a cul-d-sac area with muppets, monsters inc, a new attraction in millionare building and maybe an eatery with live music in what is now the stage and garden area. then give all the buildings facades that match the rest of hollywood
