Of course, I'm not predicting how the facades will turn out, this is strictly related to TSM.

![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker II Just a quick remark in regards to painting when it comes to Disney constructions. They are never final. WDI enjoys painting things certain colors to get ideas for color schemes or to see if the colors look the same in real life as on paper. Take for instance the Midway Mania queue. Anyone remember how many times the queue was painted. Colors changed constantly. The color scheme in many of the supports and outside walls changed while construction was going on. |

Even without the elaborate wrap around boardwalk and large canopy queue structure the final result will be much much better than what was there

![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker II Thank you all for asnwering my walkway question on the Fun Wheel. I for one will wait until it is all done before trying to give my input (which I'm great at). One question though: I thought all of this was already approved by budget before the economy turmoil hit. Even though it is all approved and accounted for, it can all still change? I didn't know that. Does anyone know where the money may be allovated too? Thanks again! |

When they establish a budget, its based on the concept they present. And once that concept had been bought off (based on the budget they approved), the project must adhere to it. The budget should include everything needed to complete the project, including contingency. Contingency should cover all incidental costs that werent foreseen during initial budget assessment. The budget for Mermaid would only be penciled in in initial concept stages. Once the budget had been allocated, that money is not subject to being modified for other purposes. So I really doubt that they would be pulling funds from previously budgeted projects to fund altogether new projects. New projects would have to go through the entire process to get funding and its own budget.

![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker II No one really knows where the money is going but you are right, the budget was approved. Although with so many changes that could be made in the major attractions (Carsland/Little Mermaid) they are being safe and setting aside some money that they could use if they needed to in these areas. There still is always a chance that they bring back the original ideas of what were intended, such as the pier, and covered queue and what not. |

I don't really believe that they "set aside" any of the money. It was more likely allocated from Disney's overall fiscal budget. So, it could change if the company's upcoming outlook took a significant downward turn. Many of the projects in the "Disney Decade" were budgeted, but they were ALL shut down when the economy went sour in the early 90's.
