Well, its hard to control how other people will read and interpret something. Even if it is very clear that information is rumor, someone is likely to believe it as fact. That, as undesirable as it is, also comes with the territory here.

You have to understand that wild speculation comes with the territory with this thread. Plans are constantly changing with the DCA project, and through all of it Disney remains tight-lipped with the public and shares little to no information with us.

Bingo

The problem is when people stop separating rumor and speculation from fact and treat the former as the latter. People speaking authoritatively about something when they have nothing but speculation to go on.

The key is knowing the line and being clear when you are one side or the other. An art lost on many of the posters here.

Speculation is always going to lead the information curve by a bit... but the future needs to come from what you learned since last time.. not the speculation of last time

You and Baloo are a tag team! LOL

I agree with you on craving rumors. They allow our imagination to go to places we hadn't thought of before. But like you say, discuss them logically! AMEN!

Oh, I agree. you can't control how other people interpret, but why aggravate the problem by being unclear in the posts. If you are speculating, state it. If it is your opinion, state it. If you have a source, say, "I have a source" (even if you can't divulge the source). Let's be clear on what we are posting here and help alleviate some of the confusion. We can't control how other people read it, but we can control what we post and how we choose to word it.

If I have failed to do that, it was an accident. I try to be clear when I'm speaking in speculative terms or about rumors.

Oh I'm not talking about you personally, I'm just speaking generally to MiceChat as a whole

Hope I didn't come across as ragging on you personally.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker II

Do we have a new start date for Carsland?

The tracker says 2008, but obviously that didn't happen.

Any info. on a start date?

The 2008 date was in reference to info I had recieved about the land being cleared. I need to update that entry, because obviously the Timon lot is still half-open for cars, and the other half is staging area for World of Color. I imagine that once construction for World of Color gets further along and closer to being finished we might see preliminary work for Cars Land begin. Of course, this is speculation on my part, perhaps Baloo might have a better timeline.

Edit: Updated Cars Land entries to "Unknown" statuses.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker II

Depending on how long it takes to install the fountains, I'm going to guess that we won't see a start on cars land until late 2009 early 2010. But this is just a guess of when they might be able to clear up the parking lot area.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker II

I would think they'll get started in 2009 just because of the size and complexity of the project they may need that much time, but I'm not sure. They could start ripping out pavement and installing utilities while still using much of that area for storage. I would think that major grading work won't start until the area is able to be cleared though.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker II

I don't think they're in a hurry. I can't imagine time being an issue. In fact, let's hope they take their time with World of Color so it turns out in the best form possible. I'm gonna go with all the other speculation here and guess that once WoC construction is pretty far along Carsland will very slowly begin to appear.

So the railings aren't a different design? no one answered my question!

This is true. They can start at the back end of the parking area where the show building for RSR will be and start doing utilities and such. I think that once the nozzles and major piping pieces for WoC are into the lagoon the staging area will become moot. It will be where shipments of components arrive are checked out and placed in order to be installed.

I'm still going to bet that it will be more towards end of 3rd quarter. But it depends on how quickly they get stuff into the lagoon.

I'm pretty sure they're the same, just painted. I actually don't have a problem with them, I'm pretty sure that simmilar metal parts were available in the '20's.
