The 2008 date was in reference to info I had recieved about the land being cleared. I need to update that entry, because obviously the Timon lot is still half-open for cars, and the other half is staging area for World of Color. I imagine that once construction for World of Color gets further along and closer to being finished we might see preliminary work for Cars Land begin. The date i had heard but was not set in stone is late 2009. As of now the only dates somewhat set for some major work related to Buena vista street and possible CarsLAnd is sometime in June of 2009.

Buena vista street will most likely see the southern portion construction first with the Sun and plaza being dismantled and foundations set for the Carthay

Right now it is hard to see what is gone and not. The lights went out and now it can almost be as if both ears are gone but I honestly can't tell

Not even close. That crane is much smaller than the ones used for the GCE, and the grand californian is WAYYYY over to the right more, that is new! But it's not above Orange Stinger.

I'm going to agree with mycroft16 here. The complicated part of Cars Land is RSR - this is the part that will take a long time - digging out and constructing the foundations for the show building. The front part of RSR could start later and the rest of Cars Land itself can start even later. So they could still have the storage area for WoC while beginning work on the RSR show building, then transform the storage area into a full-on construction zone later.

They did something similar with Splash Mountain and it worked fine. Check my sig for photos. They started steel work on the back show building while still laying the foundation for the main building and then later still began work on the splashdown and return flume. Things can be done in stages.
