Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker II

I asume they will first replace the trim that connected the ears to the face and then will they just cover over the center part?

1. WOC is gonna be meant for one view point area. If you haven't noticed, the main string of jets is facing directly at the new viewing area. That simply wouldn't work in TDS. You would need at least 4 different screens going around. And that much equipment would stop the boat transportation system.

2. This doesn't seem very Sea-like to me. Yes there will be lots of water and fire, but with many more references like Lion King, Sleeping Beauty, ect., I just don't see it happening.

I see it as being another fake rumor to stir the online communities up (i.e. Carsland budget going to WDW).

When I see it, I will believe it but I dont see it as being possible.

This rumor was started by Blue Sky Disney... not a drive by blowhole.

I would assume they would start immediately to get this done as soon a possible. I wouldn't be surprised if they started putting the Mickey Face on the Wheel since the ears are gone. But I still am not so sure about a big mickey head, we'll just have to wait and see.

Also, if they did decide to put it in the TDS lagoon, the system would have to be retractable, even more than the Bellagio system, to allow for the floating shows that they have there.

I believe they will just cut the edge where the ears connected and reshape it to the circular shape of the main face which is suppose to stay from what i remember.

The main face portion is the one that is suppose to get a new paint job and new lighting inside the rim so that it becomes the sunburst

Actually it was started on Laughingplace almost a week ago with somebody saying "We heard that the oriental land company wants WOC", Blue Sky saw it, then posted that topic on his blog.. In addition, he did not confirm it, or post any extra information about it. He just said Hmmm.... which most likley means.... this is new information to him as well. Doesn't sound like a confirmation to me. Still a rumor. We just have to wait and see what happens.

Also the crane is back, looks like they are removing the last peices of his ears.

With the Monorail track going directly through the Grand Californian and how it all relates to Downtown Disney -- I bet that there simply isn't any way to get the Monorail track out of DCA at this point. That is one of the many infrastructure flaws from DCA 2001 that Imagineering in 2009 has to learn to live and work with.
Although this might not solve anything, why hasn't TDA/WDI put a monorail stop in DCA?

I think because its too hard to figure out who paid for what ticket and would just cause chaos but I'm sure there's a way to do it like have the turn stills inside the park instead of at the DTD loading area. But that would require laying out more track and gutting some attraction to make room for the turn stills

Easily changed. Reorient a few of the french screens and place projectors in multiple locations. Or simply create clusters of french screens. Altering a show is not that huge of an undertaking, especially with the kind of budgets that the OLC has been willing to put up in the past. If they want something bad enough, they'll pay to make it work, and work really well, with TDS.

WoC is more or less theme/story-less. It would work just find in TDS. FIre really doesn't have a lot to do with the sea either, yet a fair portion of Bravi-SEA-mo is about fire. This matches the volcano above the lagoon. If this were actually about the Lion King, I would agree with you, but WoC is a celebration of "the music from classic Disney animations." The music can fit anywhere. The images are there simply to back it up and reinforce the music.

I see it as being completely possible. It is absolutely, 100% possible for the OLC to want this, especially if it is as good as rumors say it will be. It is also very possible for this show to fit into their lagoon.

I'm not saying that it will happen, or that it should happen. I am simply debating the fact that yes, it is possible to do. If I understand you correctly, k_peek, you are debating more the emotional side of should they, is it really going to happen? as opposed to the more technical, could it actually be done? If so, then I think that might be where some of the disconnect in this discussion is.

Maybe I'm just clueless, but why does it matter if WoC gets copied for TDS? I feel like I'm missing something...

The elevation study looks great... but i dont know about the facade in front of the Screamin' track ontop of TSMM...it just drops off and seems an after thought.
