Yeah, I'm not so much digging that either. I wonder what it is for exactly. Is it part of the original idea to retheme sections of the ride? Like is it a tunnel for some of the bunny hills? If it's just facade with sky blue on it, then drop it. If it's from the original ideas, then it probably has been dropped.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker II

I dont really care if TDS gets WOC....It would bother me more if WDW got TLM or WOC.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker II

I agree. TDS's version wouldn't really be taking away from DCA's "specialness" because it's overseas and not many people from each park would be super motivated to hit the other one. If WDW got these attractions it would be a whole different matter, though, because WDW is so close.

Listen, folks, if you're trying to make DCA a legitimate park and a must-see for everyone, quit cloneing it's attractions! Honestly, what big rides does it have that ISN"T somewhere else at WDW? Let's see.

ToT - Cloned at DHS (although to be fair, I think DHS had theirs first?)
Soarin' - Cloned at EPCOT
GRR - Cloned and renamed at AK (Not sure if AK had theirs first though)
It's a Bugs Life - Cloned at AK
Muppets 3D - Cloned somewhere; DHS?
Screamin' - Same launch system as R&R at DHS, and just a generic rollar coaster otherwise

Am I missing anything?

If WDW gets TLM or WOC, I will be TICKED. Give them their own, unique attractions...quit stealing DCA's!

I am severely against cloning period. If Disney wants me to visit WDW someday, then they need to make it a unique and different experience, or I'll just keep visiting the park that's closer and cheaper for me to visit.

So yes, in order for DCA to truly succeed and pull in people, they need to have a reason to come, and that means, shows and attractions that you can't get anywhere else. For the US crowd, that means don't copy DCA to WDW.

That looks like the show building for TSMM that is actually behind the Screamin' track to me.

ROBONICS95 is correct that is an outline of the TSMM show building behind the coaster. Its already built. The picture just has it in front of the loop to help determine elevation.

I don't think so... that blue facade on the elevation drawing has a curved element along the "roof line"... the TSMM show building does not have any curved roof elements at all. Nor does the TSMM show building ever rise as high as the bunny hill crests.

DHS had TOT first and has a far more superior exterior than DCA and DLP, but I love the TDS TOT!!!!!!!!

Muppets 4D premiered at DHS - the version at DCA is not exactly the same

Although Kaili River Rapids and Grizzly River Run are both water rides they are in no way clones of eachother

and the Tough to be a Bug is far more superior at AK theme-wise

This image is from Darkbeer's Smugmug album dating back to September '07 that clearly shows a curved element.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker II

Ok, thanks for the clarifications. My original point still stands...if DCA is ever to have the kind of respect that it needs and deserves, it needs to stop with the clones...either giving or receiving them.

The point of DCA's uptick is not to make DCA some national or global 'must see'. DLR is still going to share the US with WDW. The point is to make DCA enough of a draw to lengthen people's stays at the DLR and be more willing to pay a premium to enjoy both parks. WDW and DLR do not compete for the same audience for the most part. The competition will actually get more direct if DLR ever manages to make it self more then a 2 day stop.

As for your clone list.. you had it mostly backwards

ToT - Cloned at DHS - Nope, DHS first
Soarin' - Cloned at EPCOT - Yup
GRR - Cloned and renamed at AK - Nope, and neither is a clone of the other..
It's a Bugs Life - Cloned at AK - Nope, originally at AKand its called 'Its tough to be a bug'
Muppets 3D - Nope, originally at DHS
Screamin' - Not a clone, just using similar technology as most other roller coasters

Oops, yep.. sorry, too distracted as I wrote that message. And anyone who has seen the DCA version and not the AK version is missing out big time.

true the building hase a curved element but it doesnt go up as high as the elevation study shows... the curve covers almost half of the loop!
