Looks like that wood is just formwork for the concrete they will be pouring in that area. There is also more falsework and formwork across the lagoon for a retaining wall they are constructing.

Too high maintenance. It doesn't remain clear and gets cloudy.. and of course would look filthy unless cleaned constantly.

I'd be curious if it really was a negotiation with the city.. or if someone thought it would be a cool tunnel hybrid that 'hey, look, it can also shelter noise!' and then sold it that way.

I wish they were gone all together personally.

I didn't say it was a feasible idea... just that it would be cool.

Though coating the acrylic in titanium oxide could help keep it clean as titanium oxide oxidizes under uv radiation and cleans surfaces. It's being infused into marble counter tops intended for public restrooms in several countries. I wonder how well it could work in this case. Probably not well enough, but I can dream right?

It's not really local resident's that complain but mostly near by hotels that are across the street from the theme park. The "Scream Tubes" don't look bad, to me they make the roller coaster different than any other in a good way .

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker II

The center circle has to come down first. According to what Dark Beer told me last Sunday, the circle from Mickey Head will not be used for the sunburst. They are installing something all new, probably because of the special lighting requirements. So it will be awhile yet before we see a starburst on California Screamin'.

Doesn't that require removing the loop?

I don't think if they have been taking it down like with the ears.

Not if they do it at night and take it down in pieces like they did the ears.

They could probably do it faster by removing the loop, and they may do that when the put up the replacement part, but I think they'll try to take it down with as little impact to the park as possible.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker II

I'm in favor of the loop being removed completely! LOL Out of that entire fantastic ride, the loop is the worst part. Too many G's for me.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker II

^Yes, they removed it for TSM. In response to removing the loop as a whole, that would kill the signature of the ride. That would be so wierd, just doing that slight drop, straight for a moment and then you shoot up.
