Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker II

It is very interesting to see the progress of Disney's Carlifornia Adventure Plan.
Hope the downturn will not see Disney backing off some of the planned rides.

Do we know anything or what would we want for Phase II ? I know i would love, even though most of you dont..would like a Boat Type Ride, not sure why i want this but i do lol....

Also get rid of that Ugly Green Monster with Shades selling Junk...please that is so not needed!

I've heard a condor flats makeover, to make it look more wildernessy. A potention E-ticket to be where the Redwood Creek Challenge thing is. And to turn the Pacific Warf area into a San Fransico Area, then put a new "origional" themed ride where Mullholand Madness currently is. Not exactly sure, that is just what I've heard.

I think there are also plans to develop the area around TOT and the Hyperion to a 30's theme, creating a grander entrance to the theater and adding attractions, etc. Maybe this is for a Phase III though.

Here's how the names layed out:

Epcot Center - 1982-1994
Epcot '94 - 1994
Epcot '95 - 1995
Epcot - 1996

Legally I believe it is still labeled as Epcot Center. I recall seeing the Epcot Center name on the federal report of the Mission Space deaths.

Not too many people are in the position to just up and decide to go to Disneyland. If that were the case, I'd be there right now.

On a tangent, Music used to be a key ingredient in a disney attraction. Look at the most POPULAR ones in disneyland history:

-it's a small world
-pirates of the caribbean
-haunted mansion
-enchanted tiki room

I can probably go so far as including Carousel of Progress to the mix. These attractions have memorable tunes written JUST for the ride and people love it.

What recent attraction has done the equivalent? Splash maybe, but recycling existing songs. Soarin... well... that's great instrumental music which is important as well. I'm sure Little Mermaid will provide the music that will get guests humming. But it'd be great to see Disney do another attraction that's truly original, and truly Disney.

This is something that has been bothering me for a long time. More and more attractions are not getting a specific song, which is really what drove so many great attractions. The OAs are now becoming more and more instrumental, which might be beautiful, but people generally don't come out whistling or remembering a great instrumental song. It's the themes in the attraction that make them memorable, and lately I feel that's been sorely lacking in almost every new attraction in many years.

The Sherman's were a great musical team. So was X. Man I wish Disneyland didn't rely on technology so much. They loose the key ingrediants when all they do is focus on the technology and not what the technology is displaying. Where's the Music, Story, Characters, Excitment all wrapped together seemlesly. I got something in my eye....

There was a lively debate back at the debut of TSMM about technology in support of the ride or technology as the ride.

No, if anything, that would be Phase II. We don't even know if there is going to be a Phase II though, let alone a Phase III.

No, it's Epcot. In this case, legally doesn't really matter.

To be honest, I don't think any of us really care what EPCOT aka EPCOT Center aka EPCOT 94 aka Epcot 95 aka Epcot is called. I know I'm not loosing sleep over it.

Don't worry, there will be a phase II. I have no idea if anything's been inked yet, but I think we can count on a phase II. Even if it's ten more years down the road and it's one ride, we can say, "Look! There's phase II!"
