Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker II

They could easily do the outside at the same time or a different time, it wouldn't make much difference construction wise. In terms of operations, I would think they'd want to get the outside done before WoC opens, but not necessarily within the timeline of installing the new bathrooms, which needs to happen before they can demo the old bathrooms. I don't know though, they very well could wait until they're working on TLM as well. My guess would be that they'll manage to keep the restrooms operational during most of the work on the outside, which will probably not happen for a while. I'm also curious how much work will be required outside of the building to connect to the additional utilities that the restrooms will likely need.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker II

I always thought it was poor planning to have San Francisco represented by "bathroom row" and then the Golden Gate bridge way on the other side of the park. Had WDI done this instead, DCA would have an amzing SFO area. It should have been the New Orleans of the park.

I'm not sure what you are saying; but if you are implying that the entry plaza should have been themed to San Francisco, I agree. It would have fit much better with the bridge as opposed to the hodgepodge postcard idea.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker II

I think that the park aws poorly planned in terms of benches and bathrooms. The other day the line for TSMM was super long again, and they used the line right next to the railing, against the pier. So since they had to cross the board walk to get to the ride they block traffic, but there was this little girl who really had to go, bad, and she was with her dad, and they almost didnt let them through. Lukily there was an old woman working it, and she managed to get teh other CM open in back up for the girl.

I think that could have been a very avoidable problem. ;O

Not really. That's the only way with the space constraints that they could do the extended queue. Besides, it's rarely on that side much anymore, at least from what I've seen.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker II

Simple question about the first post, it says the MuppetVision show is closing, but from the images I've seen from the presentation centre, it's staying and I even think Al confirmed that they were staying a while back right as the first announced this makeover. Would be really sad to see them go, as I'm a huge Muppet fan, and cutting other Disney- linked studios out for something that's probably gonna be Pixar.

Muppet*Vision 3D is sticking around for the time being, but long-term plans for the show have it being removed. It doesn't draw significant crowds, and I think Imagineers are interested in bringing a fresher experience to the space. No solid information on what the replacement will be has been decided yet.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker II

As featured in the 12/22 Dateline Disneyland, here's the latest look at the DCA construction:

CALIFORNIA CONSTRUCTION
Over at California Adventure, progress is moving along at the Games of the Boardwalk on Paradise Pier.

You can already see some of the basic shapes of the new Games of the Boardwalk facades (specifically, the two windows on the middle facade) that were shown in the Blue Sky Cellar's model:

No real noticeable changes can be seen at the Sun Wheel.

The scaffolding on Sun Wheel/Mickey's Fun Wheel looks TERRIFYING. I would never go on that.

Imagineerfan has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker II

The rain has to be wreaking havoc with the Mickey's Fun Wheel repainting project. At the rate it is going, they are going to be weeks behind in getting the repainting done. I wonder if they built rain days into the schedule or if the opening will end up being delayed.

They don't go out on the scaffolding, only up. The part that sticks out into the bay is merely for support.
