    Disneyland on Oct. 31st???

Well my mom is gonna let me and my brother go to Disneyland this month and i'm wondering about the park on Halloween Day.

Is it open to the public on that day? Do you need a special ticket??

How are crowds generally? Crowded? Empty??

I'm wondering this because my school has that friday off, so i thought it would be a good opportunity to go to the park and beat the crowds.

However other schools may be doing the same thing and really i have no idea about Disneyland on halloween day.

    Any info/insight is appreciated!

To Disneyland, its another day just like any other day. Even the lowly So Cal Select pass is not blocked on that day. So all you need is a regular pass or ticket. The only thing you would need a special ticket to would be if you want to go to Mickey's Trick or Treat Party in DCA.

Since Halloween is on a Friday this year, I would expect large crowds. Especially if there are schools that are out for the day. Between that, Mickey's Trick or Treat party in DCA that night and general weekend crowds I would imagine it will be packed.

Well, crowds can go either way in my opinion:

First, the park could be empty because everyone is at home celebrating, Trick-or-Treating, etc. and you'll have the park to yourself...

Or theory number two, which is probably the likely. Orange Unified Schools have a minimum day that day, letting kids out around noon. Also, it's Nevada Day which is observed in Nevada, allowing a 3-day weekend for them. So, go and tell me which theory is right!

We were there last year on Halloween (I believe it was a Thursday) and it was "weekend" crowded. We were surprised because we figured everyone would be trick or treating. I imagine it would be even more crowded on a Friday. Our family still had fun looking at all the decorations and stuff, but we did very little in the way of rides.

If it's a weekend, it'll probably be crowded....especially if you guys get the day off.

    Re: Disneyland on Oct. 31st???

I'm going for Halloween, but seeing as I'm from Vegas I tend not to care about the crowds quite as much as those that are in the parks more regularly. Should be in for some good decor, at least.

Anybody have the details of the costume policy?
I worked at Walt Disney World as a member of the Disney College Program in Spring 2008 and Summer 2010. Now, I build software, design live events, and frequently make the short trek from Costa Mesa to Disneyland with my Annual Passport in hand.

Last time I went on Nevada day weekend crowds were about average for a weekend. NO costumes are allowed period, the only exception being for the Not-so-scary halloween party

On the website it says that costumes are only allowed for those that paid for a trick or treat party ticket, and kids under 7 or so. I, too, am going on 'Nevada day' with my school
