Do heavy winds affect Disneyland much?

This morning the Santa Ana winds were STRONG (like it caused the top of trees to fall down strong). It caused me to wonder if heavy wind has that much of an affect on Disneyland. If there are really strong winds, are there certain things that happen? Will some of the outdoor rides, like Dumbo, not run? Will some shows get canceled? Will some characters not come out? Or am I making to more of a big deal than it is?

Well, I know for a fact that with any breeze at all the Golden Zephers will not be open, and the Fire works will be cancelled for saftey reasons. I'm not sure about dumbo, but I think the rockets do. Oh, and in Fantasmic, the foreworks dont go off.

    Hope I helped!

You can't control the weather, so just go to the Park and enjoy what is available.

As already mentioned, some features and attractions will not be running, but there is still plenty to do!

    Enjoy!

The JC can have issues with the bamboo... and outdoor attractions like BTM can have issues with the sensors. The real issues are when the wind blows after heavy rains. At that point the soil is soft and the trees/tree limbs are heavy. Usually after a good soaking a couple breezes cause things to come crashing down.

We had some tree limbs fall down on the tram route this morning. Nothing huge, but big enough for us to stop a couple of trams to move them to the side. I don't know about rides, but if your at Disneyland on a windy day like today, all of the canopys and umbrellas are folded up. Main Street looks ALOT different when they do this.

Usually the fireworks never show when its windy

Also today the there wasn't as many carts open

When we went on Splash Mt. right when we got to the level where the first drop is a big wind came and all the pine cone needles pelted us. It hurt.

As with any flying attraction, Soarin' Over California has to be shut down. I know of at least one incident where some guests ended up in Riverside as a result of heavy winds.

At least you didn't have to drive. Today we left for home from Disneyland and lucky me, I got to do drive up until Blythe. I kept getting slammed by crosswinds. Was there a fire? It seemed like there was smoke near Corona. Prior to Blythe I had to drive through dust.

He probably didn't look down at the ground and notice your calf tattoos .

I've always wondered about the Maliboomer in high winds, but it looks like it doesn't shut down from what everyone's saying.

EDIT: Koutesu, there's a fire in Porter Ranch, and a San Bernadino fire broke out not too long ago.
