    The Christmas Tree has arrived............

.............. I think. I saw it while on my way back to the Parking Structure today. It was very big and already decorated. Or could be the Christmas Tree float for ACF Parade.

Anyone want to add to this??

The timing is right. It's shown up around October 17 for the past two years. Usually it is visible from the tram on your way in or from the top level of the parking structure. Usually Darkbeer gets a couple shots of it as soon as it arrives. I wouldn't be surprised if he has it in his update on Monday.

    But...it's FAKE this year...right?

I dont really care. All these year I thought it was fake, and sprayed with massive amounts of pine scent, like mine at home.

I noticed it was painted last year. I was somewhat disappointed. But, it's beautiful when it's on Main Street and I guess that's what matters.

It was my understanding that the "paint" was actually fire retardant.

Awesome. I always love Main Street with the tree in the square. Its just a great time of the year at the resort. Just out of curiosity.. what does everyone like better? the halloween decorations, or christmas?? The holidays are so close together, what do you look foreward to more??

I don't look forward to either. I prefer the park without the additional decorations. That's not to say I boycott the park or don't enjoy my visits during the holidays or anything! Nor do I hate the holidays or anything. Christmas is a celebration of one of the two most important events in human history, if you ask me. But somehow the decorations just don't do it for me. They bring me out of the environments a bit too much, though they're typically quite well-done, for the most part. I suppose I prefer the Christmas decorations over the Halloween ones, but the HMH overlay is probably why I don't particularly enjoy either.

Christmas decorations, hands down. But what they've done with Halloween is great.

Personally I like them both. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays/seasons, but the decorations that Disney does for Christmas time are just so beautiful, I can't pick. Each as their own beauty and attraction for me.

Christmas makes me smile, but I hate the crowds that accompany that time of the year. Halloween by contrast seems forced upon the park, and drastically alters the main gate.

I really loved the Halloween decorations when we went last weekend. We have gone at Christmas time the last few years and I love how the park looks when it's all decked out in Christmas decor... I think Disney gets both of these holidays just right. Still, it's been a long time since I've seen the park sans any decorations...I miss it.

That very well could be the case, and, makes sense. It looks like paint, but, when that tree is lit up and it's Christmastime at DL...nothing could be better!
