    Where would you recommend.......

As you can see from my countdown, our Disneyland trip is looming. We are spending 4 days at the resort. One of those days is just me and my husband to celebrate our anniversary, no family or friends, just us. I would like to eat some where nice for dinner that evening. I had considered Napa Rose, but I don't think we can afford it. We are dining at the Blue Bayou earlier in the week, so I don't think I want to eat there twice.

I am looking for suggestions for a nice dinner- not too expensive, just good ambience and good food. It has been a few years since we have been, so I am a little rusty as far as this goes. We have never tried any of the sit down restaurants at DCA- which of these are the best and what should I expect to pay for dinner- should I get reservations?

If you were in my shoes, where would you go? I appreciate any help you could give me!

I might suggest Hook's Pointe, which is still a little pricey (though not as much as Napa Rose) but is almost always much quiter than any other restaurant in the resort (besides Napa Rose and Granvilles) and they have good food too.

Went there last week with the Commodore and had a pleasant meal. The wifey and I frequent the place and one can usually get in fairly easily.
I need to get a life...

Could I suggest instead of dinner, if can still get ressies, doing the Fantasmic! Dessert Buffet. Especially if you've never done it before. You could always celebrate your anniversary at Blue Bayou and then treat yourself with the dessert buffet.

    Just a thought

There are also a few off site restaurants you can go to. The Block at Orange is fairly close to the park. They have some good restaurants over there (Tu Tu Tango is fun. There is also Market Broiler). There are a couple restaurants down Harbor (Buca de Beppos and a couple others). Try doing a search for restaurants in the area.

But if you want to stay on site, you could do Ralph Brennans Jazz Kitchen. You mentioned Napa Rose. You could eat there for less than you think. It's not that much more than BB at dinner. Just depends what you like.

Well duh that's why we married you

I like Grumpyhogsthejelloshots4's idea of Ralph Brennan's! I think with either choice Ralph Brennan's or Hook's Pointe you'd be good to go!

I love the Vineyard Room but it's pretty pricey. On a budget , I think I would just take a really great bottle of wine or champagne with me on my trip and then order room service and have a romantic evening away from the crowds. Or if you want to be in the crowds how about a light dinner somewhere inexpensive and then the Electrical Parade buffet ? That would be a nice treat!

Brennan's is great but Napa Rose is better, we had a great dinner there once and you could probably get by cheaper than we did but we had the whole "Chef's Dinner" paired with wine for every course...full and happy and the end!

I think I might agree with Hooks Pointe as well.

    In DTD:
Catal (try inside, downstairs for a less expensive meal)
Brennans - you can get a seat in the stage area and watch live Jazz while you eat.
Tortilla Joes (I still love TJ's)

    Hotels:

Granvilles is wonderful (DLH) I would choose this over Hook's Point. Meat lover's paradise, but on the pricy side.
Storytellers - eh, good food, not a lot of ambience

    Parks:

Wine Country Trattoria - This would be my TOP choice for a lower cost meal with great ambience. Schedule your meal later, ask for a seat next to the overlook and watch the Electric Parade from your seat.

My girlfriend's birthday is on Tuesday and I'm going all out for her!! We start the day off right, a trip to River Belle Terrace...oh right, that's closed when we're there...OK, ok, I'll do it up right, take her to the Blue Bayou for breakfast...wait, they don't serve breakfast. Man!

OK, I got it! A Dole Whip and a swat on the bottom...that says "Happy Birthday", "Happy Anniversary", "Happy Hanukkah", "Merry Christmas", "If you kids don't knock it off, I'm pullin' this park over" or whatever you want it to say, say it with a Dole Whip!

I like Catal, 2nd floor balcony overlooking DD, or inside the "round room" on the 2nd floor if you want something more intimate. Their prices are not bad considering the entrees that are being served, and the quality of service that you get.
Besides it's your anniversary, cut back on something else. This is a special date!
    P.S. Congratulations in advance!!

Great suggestions! I appreciate them a TON!

I think we are going to pay it by ear and see what we feel like eating that night. I checked out a menu for Napa Rose and it is not as expensive as I thought it would be. I'll let you know what we decide.

Not Afraid- the EP idea sounds great- is it still running? I thought it was going dark after Labor Day.
