I Just Checked the calendar at Disneyland dot com, and there appears to be some big news!

On Thursday November 20, It shows:

Closed for Refurbishment:
Big Thunder Ranch
Harbour Galley
it's a small world

and on Friday November 21, it only shows

Closed for Refurbishment:
Harbour Galley

Looks Like Small World Holiday will be open on 11-21-08!!!

Yup, knew it would be end of Nov, thought it was the 26th though. Ah well, can't wait to ride it again!

Text: I just checked the Disneyland.com calendar and would like to confirm the following updates with everyone for this year's wintertime entertainment.

Christmas Season at Disneyland begins on November 21st, including:
Believe... In Holiday Magic 9:25pm
A Christmas Fantasy Parade 3:30pm and 6:30 pm(with a few varying scheduled days)
It's a Small World Holiday

Holiday Fireworks show begins daily showing on Friday November 21, 2008, at 9:25 pm!

the Christmas Fantasy Parade is scheduled to begin on Friday Novemger 21, 2008, at 3:30pm and 6:30pm.

The Parade runs twice a day at the same times each day thru November 30th.

Starting December 1st, the parade run once a day at 6:30pm on Mon, Tues, Wed, Thur
and twice a day on Friday 12-5 at 3:30 pm and 6:30 pm

twice a day on Saturday 12-6 and Sunday 12-7 1:15 pm and 3:15 pm
(early due to the Candelight Processional)

Monday 12-8 Parade at 4 pm DL closes at 6pm, DCA open until 9pm
Tuesday 12-9 Parade at 4 pm DL closes at 6pm, DCA open until 9pm
Wednesday 12-10 Parade at 6:30pm
Thursday 12-11 Parade at 6:30pm

The Parade then runs twice a day at 3:30pm and 6:30pm thru January 4, 2009,
which is the last day of the Christmas Fantasy Parade.

As mentioned earlier in this thread, Disney (Disneyland Resort Media Relations) released a Press Release on October 2nd, which I placed in my October 6th Monday in the Parks column.

In fact there are strong rumors of a soft opening starting around the 17th, so they can get the CM's trained with some slow weekdays, and to find any bugs that need to be fixed prior to the 21st.

And just what latest reports might that be? Another case of someone who just pretends to be in the know. If Disney announces that Small World is going to be open along with the kick off of the Holiday Season, just what makes you think you know something that Disney doesn't. They have already people scheduled for Small World shifts along with trainers. They have been on a test and adjust schedule now and for the next couple of weeks which is basically a fine tuning before opening.

This re-opening doesn't feature the new characters correct? Those are coming after the holiday overlay is removed. Or am I wrong on this?

You are correct. The new characters are going to be hidden, probably covered with Christmas decorations. You will be able to see them when Small World has it's grand re-opening in February of 09

No need to get snarky... the report was for many months that it would open on Nov 29th. So what he says is correct. It has just been updated as of Oct 6th by Disney. That's all.
