Why can't folks just accept that to Walt theme did matter, and even if Walt wanted a pirate ride he had to figure out a way to make it fit the theme of 1860's New Orleans! He could have simply had them plop it down and build a giant ship or some other pirate style structure, but they didn't. They took the time to design it so it was completely hidden... why? Walt initially wanted a "pirate museum" so think of it as a romantic living history.
