It's not the sign that is the problem. If it were the good old days, a font would have been chosen that is reminiscent of the old West.

Of course, too, in the good old days they used to bus your tables at all restaurants including the counter service ones thereby eliminating the need for such sign.

So Disney really is slacking in more ways than just one.

I see the point that they are not painted, or wood-carved, or whatever, as we would perhaps "expect" from Disney. But ... not to beat a dead horse ... it's a trash can. I'm sure they're in process right now of creating bigger trashcans with appropriate Tomorrowland and Frontierland-themed HD images on all of the trashcan flaps displaying the neccessary instructions in English, Spanish, and French, a nice fitted space for baskets on top, and a loop.

Is it possible that this might just be a temporary solution to a problem and maybe they're trying to figure out a better one, but are just using this to try and halt the problem for now?

Personally, though, it doesn't bother me one bit.

when I saw this last week I thought, who put that there. But it surely didn't ruin my trash discarding experience. I actually appreciate the fact that a CM probably toke the time to make them. But then again I wont think about it beyond this post.

Good point, But the sign shouldn't be on just a laminated piece of paper.

They could place the meals in boxes similar to the Kid's Meals. But that would create more garbage.

Oh, and while we're on the food topic, I was not very happy when I ordered fish and fries at the stage door cafe, I asked for Ranch dressing for the fries (as I don't use ketchup) and they had the nerve to charge a dollar, for a condiment??????? ACCKKKKKKK!!!!

And I do agree, the isssue of REMOVING the Chicken Strips, and just having chicken nuggets is a much bigger issue.

Someone is going to have to back me up on the chicken strip issue. I'm assuming the strips are gone from the stage door as well as nuggets were the only thing on the Horseshoe Menu last night, along with the Mozzarella sticks, etc. The chicken strips always had some serious meat on them, enough so that we could split them in the late afternoon between two of us and still be full. The nuggets....not so much. The fries were pretty sparse too.

And a DOLLAR for a 10 cent package of ranch?

    More cost saving measures?

And now, back to the sign discussion.

Have you considered that maybe they are temporary and during the next refurb the trashcans will get the same information stenciled unto the top edge of the trashcan. But since its not time for the cans to get there refurb something needed to be done to avoid the continued disposal of those baskets.

I am sure once you start getting hundreds of those thrown away the expense to keep replacing them starts adding up. Its an extra unnecessary cost.

Now even if they do nto care about the cost of the baskets they do create exra bulk in the trashcans as well as being plastic baskets that they most likely prefer to recycle. Disney has a huge recycle program

About that recycling program... where is it they recycle? Is it that area back by the stables? And do they go through all trash looking for recyclable items? What do they do with the recycled material afterwards? Give it to the city recycling program?

More likely that the hack n' slash decimation of the Staff Shop under Pressler and Irby is still being felt, and there's simply nobody available to do the job right.
