It's a theme park, not a heaven, not a place of worship, not a museum, not a home away from home, a theme park........ with history. I felt bad for the parks that most of these online communities are nitpicking every little detail, details that would never ruin or cross the mind of any tourist that doesn't come to Disneyland every time they get off work. It's no big deal.

I think we do this, because we are all obsessed with Disney. We nitpick because we love the park. We only want the best for the park, and thats why we do it. I think I am paraphrasing something i read on a basher thread a while back.

Nahhh not trying to bash, I love the parks too. I just think it goes a bit overboard to completely freak out over a sign telling people to put their food baskets above a trash can. That does what it is supposed to do. And doesn't even look that tacky.

No no, I wasnt saying you were bashing in the least. I just know I am paraphrasing, and it happened to be on a basher thread. I think it was some janitor complained and then disney put the signs up. Thats all.

Re: Tacky Homemade Signs at Riverbelle Terrace! YIKES!

This thread is cracking me up! How do you even know that CMs made those signs? It could have been a manager or the sign shop made them up real quick until something more permanent was created. Like Baloo said, maybe they need to wait till the trash cans get fixed up again before they can have permanent signs on them. They must have just started using baskets at one of the restaurants and they were getting thrown away which is why they needed to make signs real quick. Sheesh ... someone really needs to relax!

They should attach a chain with a cinder block to the baskets.

Seriously though the signs are pretty tacky. But I guess there trying to save some baskets. I read the sign and while reading the sign, I accidently dropped the basket in the trash! Talk about A.D.D. Jeez! I think the sign caused me to throw out the basket. I immediately notified one of the guys cleaning the trash since he had gloves on. Silly me. So much for the sign though.

Wow, it's a sign. Do you get mad when you go to a fast food place that has the same signs? Maybe you could chip in to have "professional" signs made. What's the difference? A sign is a sign, not sure what the quality has to do with the effectiveness. Chill out, enjoy the park, if you don't like the signs, ignore them, don't look at them, problem solved.

Wow they spent money to laminate it, on actual paper, and use clear tape to secure it. If it was Jungle you'd be lucky to get a sharpie scrawled cardboard sign probably tacked up with duct tape! Seriously though, it's a sign, and while I may stop and look in the grand scheme of things it wouldn't bother me either way.

Re: Tacky Homemade Signs at Riverbelle Terrace! YIKES!

its just the point that you don't see tacky items like this anywhere in the park, they don't use it to temporarily tell you not to smoke in certain areas, etc... you would see this in the cast breakroom or backstage with schedules...etc. We do have better things to complain about, but in reality in plain public view, i hope this is temporary... i guess this is part of the "make riverbelle better refurb with the 2nd story?"... oh wait the whole place should just get cheapened... sad to see such cost saving measures.

If they aren't spending money to keep things in theme that they have worked so hard for.... whats saying that they aren't making cuts on other items we "don't notice or see" like maintenance... etc. big thunder ring a bell a few years back?

Does a fast food place charge you close to a hundred bucks to walk in the door -- and have a half-century tradition of excellence in art design and period theming?
