hows the progress at IASW doing?

Sorry if this has been posted before, but is there any idea on whats going on? I know that the clock is now working and the lighting is up, but does anyone know what is happening inside?

I'm gonna guess that at this point its just final checks and making sure everything is placed right, with opening day being so soon

The Abominations are being covered up so they won't get unveiled until next year.

The Rainforest or Up With America, whichever it may be (please be rainforest) is being covered up also.

Oh, come on. You know it has to happen at least once. And hopefully it will stay that way. My opinions on that subject are in my avatar, and I'll leave it at that.

Fortunately or unfortunately (depending on your view-point), I believe Disney has come out & announced that the new America scene will be/has been added to the attraction.

According to one of Al's most recent updates, the rainforest has been ripped out (boo!), but the new America scene will be covered until next year because that section is always covered during the holiday overlay anyway. Also when they close to remove the holiday overlay in January, they'll be adding the Disney characters to their respective countries.

FWIW, I think the Disney characters are cute.... in Hong Kong. And as much I hate the ride, I hate it more that they did this to the original classic that Walt himself oversaw.

Re: hows the progress at IASW doing?

with the new layout for IASW, they should make new T-shirts saying "It's been 3 weeks, but the song is still in my head." B/c i know it's true for me. It takes me so long to get that song out of my head after going on it only once everytime i go to Disneyland.

On saturday 11/15, the place was still behind construction walls, but from the train I could see practice runs were going on, CMs were training and some were practicing using the wheelchair lift.
I know this was discussed in another thread, but the boats looked kind of tacky...

Boo. Hiss.

Actually I had been hoping for soft openings this week as I am going tomorrow. But, guess not.
