What is your Ideal 55th Anniversary Celebration?

By this I mean, what new or fixed attractions would be appropriate for the 55th aniversary celebration coming up?

For me, this would be good:

    1) Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln should return in some way, shape or form (excluding the headphones 3-D feature)

    2) Wonder Parade

    3) Star Tours Mission 2

    4) Peoplemover should return in some form

    5) New 3-D show to replace HISTA

    6) Astro Orbiter changes to original Rocket Jets location

    7) The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh should be updates severely

    8) New Fireworks Show

    9) Disney Gallery returns as Al proposed

    10) Main Street Electrical Parade returns for one last run

Mr. Lincoln, Wonder Parade, Electrical Parade, Star Tours 2, Return of the Disney Gallery are all recent but good rumors

I can see a new fireworks show as well as a new 3-D showhappening

As for Astro Orbiter, Winnie the pooh updates and new peoplemover, I wouldnt bet they would do any of this happening from here to July 2010.
As well as anything done with Autopia or Thunder Ranch.

Make sure everything has a clean, fresh coat of pain.

Slogan: "The Happiest Place on Earth: 55 years of Magic"

Brand new, over the top awesome parade.

    NOTHING ELSE.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

New coat of paint throughout the park would be good. People Mover and Disney Gallery return, cut back the Pirates movie stuff in the ride to say 80% of current to closer reflect original ride, Hatbox Ghost for Mansion, new Tomorrowland development for HISTA and Innoventions

I would definitely love to see the Electrical Parade back.
For certain you must be lost to find the places that can't be found. Elseways, everyone would know where it was.

Re: What is your Ideal 55th Anniversary Celebration?

    1) Fresh Paint
    2) Bring back Mr. Lincoln
    3) Update Star Tours
    4) Replace HISTA
    5) Put something innovative in Innoventions
    6) Do SOMETHING with the People Mover Tracks
    7) Change POTC so the characters only say "Captain Jack Sparrow" every minute or so instead of every 15 seconds. Also, the other characters should say "Jack Sparrow" no one else in the movie, besides Jack, called him "Captain"- that was the whole joke. Grrrr.
    A little bit about me...
    First Disneyland Trip: Oct. 1989
    Mandatory first ride: POTC
Mandatory food: Clam chowder in bread bowl & a churro (not at the same time though)
    Next trip goals:
    1) Ride the Casey Jr. Circus Train. I didn't get around to it on this past trip.
    2) Get over to TSI.
    3) Try a jalapeño/cheese pretzel. Yummy!

Re: What is your Ideal 55th Anniversary Celebration?

    1. Have the PeopleMover up and running again.

    2. Return the rockets to the 3rd tier Rocket Jet Flight Deck
(that said, remove the existing attraction and those horrible rock formations - they are hideous)

    3. Have some sort of 'show' in the Innoventions building - what is there now is extremely sad. It's like two slices of bread and no lunch meat....

    4. Make HISTA be HISTA-ry (history). Open up that theatre like it was years ago and make it something equally as innovative. The world of Tomorrow should be innovative, so the entire land of Tomorrowland should be exactly that.

    5. Open up both sides of the thoroughfare along the PeopleMover track. It is so foot trafficked there, that we need every inch of space to walk - with all the stroller parking, and such. ON the left side as you head to Tomorrowland Terrace alwayd dead ends right into that venue - and it sucks. Open it up.

    6. Designated stroller parking away from Foot Traffic in Tomorrowland - they seemed to do that with Star Tours and it's a fantastic idea. Open that area up to that whole section of Tomorrowland (including Buzz Lightyear).

    7. Return "Main Street Electrical Parade" - and leave it there. It's a fantastic parade and never should have been retired.

    8. Return Fantasy In The Sky to the Fireworks show - that way all the show is in the sky and can be seen from any place in the park. It would free up the ridiculousness that is Main Street for that hour prior to the show and the hour of mass exodus after the fact. It was so great when, 20 years ago, you could be watching the fireworks in any place in the park and not worry that you might be missing some of the show because you're not standing in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. Honestly, I don't know that there is any one person that has spent the price of a ticket to see just the fireworks. They go to experience Disneyland Resort...and if they see fireworks too, it's icing on the cake. Keep the fireworks in the SKY and not shooting from buildings or Sleeping Beauty Castle. And as for the music, pipe it in all over the park like it used too be......so you don't miss the show from any place at all.

    9. Feature BIG NAMES for shows at Disneyland. They have Swing Bands in Carnation Plaza Gardens...and we love that. So, maybe a couple times through the year, feature Brian Setzer & His Orchestra.....Harry Connick Jr., Natalie Cole - people like that. Likewise for the other areas in the park......Walt Disney used to have HUGE names at Disneyland......Louis Armstrong, etc. What has happened to that? Maybe in Tomorrowland we can have some 'oldies' from the 50's/60's - bring back Bobby Rydell, invite Nancy Sinatra and let her boots do some walkin on Tomorrowland Terrace Stage......toss in the Fab Four.......bring back a memory of the heyday of Tomorrowland - the 60's.

    10. Steamclean the parkingstructure floors. They are disgusting and about 10 times more trash receptacles to that place.

    11. Give CM's a raise - they need to have a smile on their face.

    12. Invite the Robinson's to return to their rightful residence in the Swiss Family Treehouse.

    13. Spruce up the CM dress code - they are looking sort of sloppy these days - and disallow costumes to be worn off the property. It's tacky seeing a Jungle Cruise operator pumping gas. Takes the magic out of Disneyland and leaves it at the pump.

    14. At the 55th Ceremony on July 17, 2010 - they need to include many Disney personalities of the past: Kevin Corcoran, Annette Funicello (if she's up to it), Hayley Mills, Tommy Kirk, and any 50's and 70's Mouseketeers (Lisa Whelchel).

    15. A HUGE televised special - the way Walt would do it.

Re: What is your Ideal 55th Anniversary Celebration?

I vote for the Disneyland Daddy 55th Birthday package! He scores a bullseye on every suggestion!!!

My own 55th birthday priority list:

#1) Rocket Jets back on the platform plus PeopleMover replacement - - this is absolutely the most-important fix in the park. (along with it the subsequent destruction of the Krypton rocks).

#2) The Swiss Family Robinson back in their home. A reassuring symbol in this era of foreclosures and evictions!

#3) Revive a truncated version of Slue Foot Sue's Golden Horseshoe Revue - - the perfect entertainment offering for a birthday celebration!

#4) Return of the Tahitian Terrace and Polynesian Revue - - even if they eliminate the dinner-show aspect. They could ake it a virgin cocktail lounge with pupus and continuous entertainment.

#5) Bring back Captain Hook's Pirate Ship and Skull Rock and/or The Nautilus to the Motor Boat/Fantasia Gardens area.

#6) Main Street Electrical Parade back on Main Street!

#7) Return of Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln - - that's Walt's original show, not another bad rethought version (we've had three of those already since the early 80's).

#8) Return the waterfalls to Rivers of America. How about a new Cascade Peak dining area?

#9) Add Cinderella's Coach to Fantasyland - - maybe put her Chateau on the Skyway hill (or better yet, bring back Skyway)!

#10) Turn Carnation Gardens into a Mary Poppins Jolly Holiday area - with new snack stand/tea garden.

#11) Return of the Big Bands to Carnation Plaza Gardens.

#12) Lose "Honey" and restore the Tomorrowland Stage open air pavillion with name performers or a new version of Kids of the Kingdom.

#13) Paint the (darn) Tomorrowland Terrace canopy already! It still has the icky "brown era" designs on it!

    #14) Lose the wet marble!

#15) Bring BOTH of Walt's offices back to Main Street along with the Julie Adrews hosted "One Man's Dream" film.

#16) Return of the Country Bear Jamboree (even if to DCA).

#17) New version of Adventure Thru Inner Space.

#18) Return Walt's Carousel of Progress from WDW.

#19) Disney Gallery in Plaza Pavillion.

#20) Return of Villains Store in Fantasyland.

#21) Return of Walt's version Carnation Ice Cream Parlor.

    #22) Reopen Big Thunder BBQ.

#23) If Pooh is staying - - fix/beautify/enhance the show elements.

#24) Bring back Fantasy in the Sky is a good idea, DD!

#25) Fix all those poor Animatronics and visual elements on Rivers of America.

#26) Lose all the Johnny Depp movie elements from Pirates of the Caribbean and Restore Mac Davis' staging for the finale with a drunk Captain teetering up high on barrels.

#27) Lose the out-of-place pirate elements on Tom Sawyer Island, keep what fits the era and concept.

#27) Hatbox Ghost to Haunted Mansion attic.

    - Add new Hollywood Hills facades behind Tower of Terror to block powerlines behind it

    - Add new WALL-E and Cars floats to Pixar Play Parade

    - Add Muppet-themed Dark Ride to the Millionaire Building, leaving Hollywood and Dine for the special events

    - Demo Muppet-Vision and build up Mickey's Philharmagic

    10) Main Street Electrical Parade returns for one last run

    quote]

One last run? I think they should run for at least another few years if it returns.

They should return that Hunchback of Notre Dame show they had were Thunder Ranch is. If you've been on the monorail or the train, you'll see that nost of the stuff is still there.
