I think the one facade that is awesome is the Indiana Jones ride. Definitely. The outside temple is just cool looking, with the camp and flickering lights. Splash Mountain takes a second, with Haunted Mansion teetering behind...
Well, light travels from the sun. Then, bounces off of our planet, and back into our eyes so we can perceive color. My body can intercept that light and dance around on it!

Bah! The ultimate fascade is IASW. Say what you want about the attraction itself, but it's fascade is the greatest and most memorable of any attraction. Sleeping Beauty Castle doesn't count, there is no fascade, it simply is the castle.

    Well... there was the walktrough....

It's not a "Lighting Spectacular" or anything, altough it is pretty cool...

From what I can remember, there are some strobes on the mountain (kinda huge I think) and they flash, but kinda going in circles around it. Then it goes faster, and faster, and faster and then all of them flash... and then it's back to normal... It does this like every 3 minutes. It looks very cool . It's very entertaining while you are waiting for the fireworks at the hub.

Yeah, you would be saying exactly the same thing if the Magic Kingdom was the first Disney park, Cinderella Castle was the first castle, and the MK was your home park instead of Disneyland. Don't believe me? Get a time machine.

    Re: Facade Designs

Ok. Folks we're talking about the "facade", the presentation of the ride from right
OUTSIDE the queue. Not what the queue is like and not what it looks like from afar.
    That's a different topic IMHO.

Here's my two cents on this...

    * All the Mountains are weenies and really great from afar, but most loses a lot
up close. IMHO, out of this set, Splash, BTMRR and Matterhorn are pretty good.
They all give glimpses of the ride from outside of the queue, but their actual
entrance for the Matterhorn is somewhat weak. (it is alpine themed, but just
    an arch).
Space Mountain (although improved) close-up is just that ramp and sign.
Dark and foreboding, but nothing awesome.
    * Indy is my favorite ride in DL and it's queue is awesome, but it's facade
is effectively just the sign and the foliage.
    * iasw is very good with the clock; it is very entertaining and kinetic (w/ the DLRR).
    * HM and it's ground is ominous and completely themed w/ NOS.
    * The Castle doesn't qualify anymore as a ride/attraction, so that's out.

So IMHO the ride w/ the best facade is HM w/ iasw close behind.

    Indy.

I think the ruined temple and the courtyard with the snake pilliars counts as a facade (you just have to walk a few steps into the line before you can see it) so I'm gonna go with that. Like the inside of the building, it's just impossibly immersive, especially at night. The first year it was open, the queue wound through that courtyard area around the snake pilliars before going inside, all lit up with yellow flickery lights. I almost wish it still did.

Second favorite would be IASW. That ticking face is just hypnotizing.
