Since Matt Ouimet is no longer with StarWood hotels, is there any chance we could get him back to oversee the Disneyland 55th celebration?

He would have my vote!
Perhaps Disney should offer him a slightly higher position.
it's a sale of candy and a sale of plush, it's a sale of toys and disney stuff
there's so much that we sell, that it's time we tell, it's a plush plush sale!
Now THAT would be AWESOME!
I doubt it will happen, but boy would that be awesome.
Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter
Considering the success of the 55th celebration and how much Matt Ouimet had to do with it, I would think it would be in Mr. Iger and the companies best financial and creative interests to bring Matt back or have him take over for Mr. Rasullo.
Matt was a great resort President. He wasnt afraid to make dramatic changes fior the good or get out and mingle with CMs. It would be great for him to return

You know what, now that I think about it... Matt needs to go to florida. We have John Lasseter here.
Imagine that, Matt on the east cost with John on the west! it would be an incredible era for Disney parks on both costs!
Kick out JR, and replace hime with Matt!
That way both DL and WDW will benefit from Matt. I don't think Matt would come back if he still had to work with JR.
I'm all for seeing Matt replace Jay, but I don't see it happening.
I'm not too familiar to this MATT you speak of. Maybe someone could elighten me? I gathered the jist of it from this topic, but maybe some detail on what he is responible for?

Matt Ouimet was DisneyLand Park president
-From Wikipedia- "Ouimet spent 17 years with The Walt Disney Company, including stints as chief financial officer of the Disney Development Company, executive general manager of Disney Vacation Club, president of Disney Cruise Line and president of the Disneyland Resort, where he oversaw the resort's Happiest Homecoming on Earth promotion from 2005-2006 in honor of Disneyland's 50th anniversary"
Matt really helped clean up the park and bring it back into top form for the 50th celebration. Along with spearheading lots of the 50th celebration events. Matt would mingle with the crowds and really had a deep sense of pride and consideration for the Park and for the many guests.
Matt Ouimet was no doubt the best thing that happened to Disneyland in a LONG time. Unfortunately he was swooped up by the Hotels Star Group where he was given a CEO position, in 2006. Although as of September of this year 2008 he has stepped down.
Hopefully Mr. Bob Iger will bring Matt back into the fold in a position of significance.
I loved working at DL when Matt was there. I met him a few times at the park. I saw him once outside the park at a voluntEARS event, and he remembered my name without my nametag! After that I used to see him walking down main street in the mornings before the park was open- often he would stop to chat with me. It was a really good feeling- I imagined it was how the cast members felt when Walt was alive- not just an employee, but family.
I was just a lowly hourly worker, BTW.
