Again, thanks for TR Data.

I've been backstage once for Magic Music Days so it was very cool to relive the excitement through you.

Yeah, but they're already using WDW's old (POTC) boats! :P

Yes, the third time's a charm. Nicely done TR (Parts I and II)!

BTW, nice to see the IASW-SB "red pipe" photo. Hopefully, your second "red pipe" photo is up on Flckr. Don't you think the IASW "red pipe" photo beautifully counterbalances the IJTOTFE-SB "candy cane pipe" photo?

Great Pics

That pic you took of that entry way in Splash Mt. brought up a thought

Everytime I ride that ride when I get there you can here Brer Rabitt screaming to Brer Fox "Please don't throw me into that briar patch"

That's the end of the ride and your at the beginning of the ride.

I'm surprised Disney didn't put a real door there instead of a curtain

Re: Third TR's the Charm! (aka "Data goes backstage") (11-22-08)

The other red pipe photo is indeed up on Flickr, Hobbs_End. It just wasn't as interesting, so I didn't include it in the TR.

That's interesting, jackskeleton...I've never heard that through there. Guess you've gotten "lucky" a lot! Or I have.

Kittiekyo - the goat trick is a wonderful way to enhance your experience on BTMRR. Basically, there's a billygoat chewing on a stick of dynamite, maybe halfway through the ride or a little before. You go up the second lift hill (the one outside), and then you go into a right turn that spirals downwards, with the goat at the center of the turn. Instead of looking straight ahead, turn your whole body to face the goat and stare intently at him for as long as you possibly can, until he's completely gone. The resulting sensations are most disorienting and laugh-inducing.

You haven't done the Mark Twain yet? E-GAD, get thee to the park and let me know when!

The Mark Twain is a Tech Geek's Paradise, because every single important component is right out in the open for easy perusal. Yes, inside a fenced enclosure, but you are used to looking through a fence and seeing what's behind it...

The boiler and all it's controls. The pressure and water level controls, the burner and the electronic controls for it. Twin steam feedwater pumps, steam dynamo, safety valves...

(I think it has a steam injector too, but they might consider two crosshead pumps and the electric pump as the backup is enough.)

Big steam line and the throttle valve at the Engineers' Station. Johnson bar and linkage. And the two engines and linkages to the paddlewheel.

And if you can get the Engineer to open it's closet door, the little Onan Diesel power plant chugging away for the lights.

Hehehehehe...nice! It's another one of those things I'll have to do in the relatively near future. Perhaps on my next visit, if I'm alone (or with a like-minded group) and have the whole in the park.

Ah! That sounds quite possibly painful! But I shall try it next time I am there.. Last time we were on BTMRR We squished my dad, brother, and hubby all in one seat.. That was hilarious! And now I must search all of your backstage photos because you have got me quite interested... Great TR! <3

Haha, I assume you're talking about taking photos during the goat trick - it's pretty amazing! Yeah, it's always funny when you've got people squeezed into the seat and smacking into each other in the turns...

I'm glad you're interested in my backstage shots! This is my main page on Flickr, and the actual backstage photography is in this collection.

I gotta say Data, you go all-out. The bird's eye of your bus trip back stage was quite amazing as well as priceless. I appreciate the detail and the "best job possible" attitude you enthuse here on MiceChat. Well done.
