About a month ago at my work I saw the what its going to look like. I was rolling up the blue prints and logging it in. But I can't let any details out. I get to see all the new Disney stuff that comes it.

There were a ton of mature trees still in boxed planters around the area which I'd guess were getting ready to be planted throughout, so perhaps more greenery and shade are part of the "campus" look they are going for.

They are said to be also adding a fountain to that area. Basically, my understanding is that managemnt realizes that a bunch of warehouses aren't very inviting, and are trying to spruce things up a bit. I have heard that the project will start on Monday, although I am not certain.

By the way, the walls in the area are scheduled to stay up until December 20th.

Also, there is a look at the lower walls of Monsters, Inc....

Great pictures! I have never seen a picture of the motor boat area drained, it was interesting. I have seen pictures of DCA with barely any crowds but WOW is it empty. It seems that the only attraction that people only go there for is ToT. I hope making the place more inviting and the addition of Monster's Inc. will help DCA.

I was at the park today, too! Boy does that Monster's Inc. facade look cheap, or what? It's all just painted plywood! I swear it looks worse than Superstar Limo ever did! How are they supposed to pull of a "studio campus" feel for that area with that gawdawful neon plywood mess bordering 3/4 of it's length? I can't beleive the plans for that were ok'd.

I agree. Everything having to do with Disney these days reeks of cheapness.

You know, I couldn't agree with you more!! I was thinking the same thing the other day. I'm hoping that with the improvements of the HPB, that we'll see a better facade when Monsters Inc. opens up. But if not, then it'll be quite a shame and such a let down! But I'll keep my fingers crossed!

The Monsters facade, which is just the SSL facade re-painted and re-shaped, is not plywood, it's 3/4 inch steel panels.

You're judging the facade out of context. Wait until the construction walls come down, it'll all make sense.

To anyone who does not "get" the Monsters facade, re-watch the movie and pay close attention to the opening credits.

Re: Scalfolding up in Backlot yet?

I personally like the look of the Monsters Inc facade, but that doesn't help the fact that it looks competely out of place. I hope something is done to make the facade fit in better - how they could do that I dont know.. but something needs to be done...
