I don't think so, not quite yet, although I haven't been at the DLR since Labor Day. Rest assured we will see progress sometime soon.

What exactly is "project sparkle"? Haven't heard about this one, you mentioned scaffolding, so it must be something major!

Project Sparkle (although I think the name may have changed) is a project being implemented at DCA to make it more inviting. The HPB is supposed to be recieving some cosmetic work very soon. It appears that the Animation Building will get a new facade, in the style of an old movie house. Also, the Muppets/ Millionare/ Monsters area is supposed to be getting a more "studio campus" feel. They are said to be also adding a fountain to that area. Basically, my understanding is that managemnt realizes that a bunch of warehouses aren't very inviting, and are trying to spruce things up a bit. I have heard that the project will start on Monday, although I am not certain.

With all this talk of "off the shelf" and "on the back-burner" it seems the only thing that DCA is really missing is the kitchen sink!

Are Development for the Hollywood District.

Starting 9/12- a construction wall will stretch from Shmoozies to Hollywood and Dine and 'development' in the area is scheduled to finish 12/21. Muppetvision 3D will be unaffected.
Supposedly the area will be re-themed to that of a studio campus instead of the backlot theme, in order to make it more inviting to guests who have otherwise avoided the area. I myself always felt strange and uninvited in the area since it looked so much like backstage and that I wasn't supposed to be there. Hopefully this project 'sprarkle' coupled with Monsters Inc. should increase the foot traffic in the area and give the Mupptevision CMs something to do!

Ok, what exactly does "studio campus" mean?
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

I have no idea honestly. But I seem to recall it involving more shubbery or something. It was in one of Al's updates a few posts ago.

It's the same term utilized at The Walt Disney Studios in Burbank for years. The original grounds do resemble a campus more than the classical bldg.s found at MGM now Sony Pictures in Culver City and the typical office bldg.s that make up Universal Pictures and Twentieth Century Fox. The Studio Campus ambience has even been copied in a more modern version across the freeway at Dreamworks. The Disney Studios buildings with modest ANIMATION, etc. on their sides could easily read SCIENCE or MATH ! Even the commissary has a more campus lunchroom feel than a few of the other studio lots.

I gather that this new style is just like many work environments around the country. After the remodeling, guests will be able to go to DCA to enjoy the same environment they have at work.
