Thanks Aladdin. I suppose you're right. It might also help if the poor princes were more iconic. You see a blond gal in a blue dress and you know she's probably Cinderella. But the princes just show up in their prince stuff and it's pretty tough to know who I'm looking at unless they have Sleeping Beauty or someone on their arm. Those princes are usually left out in the cold.

I'll try to get back to my uploading soon. I just got back (without my camera) from watching the snowfall for the first time, and the LEDs from the hub to the tree are amazing. FYI, the "reserved" section in front of the castle is not reserved until 7:00 pm even though it's roped off. We had an amazing view of the castle at the 5:30 snow fall. It's just stunning. I'm hoping to go back in the next couple of weeks.

    Part V: Dusk...

There was not much of a sunset on 11/25 as a storm was moving in. But as it was growing darker, I wanted to grab a few more shots before I took off for home. (I came back on 11/26 for night shots)

So...after finding that the IASW lights weren't on yet, I cut through Fantasyland...

    to a cloudy Frontierland...

where the Columbia was just setting sail...

It wasn't long before the Mark Twain came around the corner...

with it's bright lights warding off the approaching darkness...

On my way out, the lights were beginning to glow throughout the park...

I took one more look back at the tree...

and took off for home, hoping to beat the rain...

Very, very, very nice shots! Your pics of the parade are awesome, especially the ones of the princesses and Cinderella's evil step sisters/mom.

Mac Daddy, these are another beautiful batch of pictures!!!

I really love what the wide angle lens does to the sky--especially when there are clouds. It really adds a feeling of depth to the photos. Bravo! I can't wait for the night shots.

Re: Photo Update 11/25-26: Christmas Fantasy Parade and Wide Angle Night Shots

Thanks again for your comments everyone. I apologize for slowing down with the uploading as this is a crazy week for me at home and at work.

Part VI: Wide Angle Night Shots (11/26)

As a disclaimer, I shot the following on my way home last week, but I was missing my tripod. In this set, I was still experimenting with aperture and kept my ISO on the lower side. But in the last batch in Part VII, I cranked the ISO up to 2000 and hoped for the best. Anyway, everything in the next two batches was shot without a tripod.

Disclaimers out of the way, on we go...

After stopping to pick up some items at the Anaheim Hilton, I figured I should stop back at Disneyland to try some night shots with the 10 - 24 mm lens. I've been waiting for an opportunity, but I just wasn't able to stick around long enough for it to get dark for the past several weeks.

When I returned, the storm clouds were still around from the night before...

I was hoping for a shower or two to get some shots similar to Photomat's where the pavement could reflect the Christmas lights, but no dice.

However, the Snowflakes on the gates were glowing...

and Tinkerbell was still doing her thing...

and the tree, when you enter at night, is simply stunning.

I stopped for a few shots up and down Mainstreet on my way to the hub...

and when I arrived at the castle, the snow had not yet been lit.

The first snowfall generally starts at 5:30, and by that time, I was already at IASW.
