wow
What specific part are you talking about?
I don't think it ever was orange...
I disagree, Nautilus. (This is a pic my dad took)
I believe they painted the whole facade white, for the 50th, to return it to its original color scheme.
It was around 2003. and there was a sign in front of Small World for quite a while, explaining that they had decided to repaint the facade of Small World in colors more similar to what it had originally on Small World's opening day. The sign also said that the reason they were doing that, was in preparation for the 50th anniversary of DL.

Interesting...I never knew that. I like it white
I hope not! I think it only really looks great painted as it is- white with accent colors of light blue and light peach(?). Plus, this allows for the new lighting they installed during the refurbishment to really be put to use. Here's some video of them testing it, before the holiday overlay was completely installed:

The white and gold are so elegant, but the pastels fit the whimsical, toy-like nature of IASW better. Maybe one day they'll give our Small World a paint job similar to Hong Kong's, which is a combo of both styles.
^ Well the title mentioned "clock"
"You're not thinking fourth dimensionally!" -Back to the Future
"With this place, I wanted to give them something real, something that wasn't an illusion, something they could see and touch. An aim devoid of merit."
-Jurassic Park
I think they were implying the clock face.
Looking at that picture of the pastel color scheme, you really can see a sort of toy quality. The colors & styling of the paint really makes it look like a toy set! I do like that old color scheme more, but if it means no projection show during the holidays, then I am fine with the white & gold.
