The days of the skyway are gone forever I am afraid. The liability of objects raining down from above prevent it from re-opening. There was a time, when people respected the park and other guests, that very few would even think about throwing something from the skyway. Today, I suspect, an element of DL visitors, like those who scratch graffiti into any available surface, would gladly use other guests as bombing targets.
Its never going to happen. They would need to be enclosed, so you would have 3 foot square version of the new monorails. People would roast before they crossed the park on moderatly warm days. So no new skyway.

Sorry, but I'm with those who don't want it to return. As I've said before, it's an off-the-shelf attraction that would inevitably be thematically inappropriate in at least one of the two lands it'd traverse, and there are all the safety issues and so forth. As much as I'd love to get those aerial views of the park, I'm gonna vote no.
I am going to say I miss the skyway and I will say that it was so amazing to be able to just hop on it and go from one end of the park to the other
sure it has its views of the tops of the dark rides we arent really meant to see but it went through the matterhorn and all the way to tomorrowland and if you wanted to cross the park easier and rest your feet for a few minutes it was the best way to go
Likely not going to happen within the next 10 years since they just put in the Dream Home, we can always hope though. Although the Dream Home does look kind of cool, it really has no place in Disneyland.
I wonder if the could make them so that the are like a glass bubble, put solar panels on the roof, or better yet make the cable electrified to power the pods like a cable car and then put a small fan/cooling system on board each, so the guests don't arrive on the other end medium-well.
