I'd put it somewhere else in the park. It looks good and can be decorated for different holidays.
I have often thought about the various pieces of DCA that will disappear into the nether regions of construction.
It'd actually be nice to maybe have them along the tram route? Can't pose with them anymore but it'd be neat to see somewhere.

It would really be sad to see them go... I would love to see them somewhere in the park, but have no clue where they would fit in... maybe there would be a way of tieing them into carsland at the entrance?

The real question is, if they are removed as part of the reconstruction, and Disney places the letters for sale on eBay, how many of them will John Stamos buy?
I wish they could be preserved somehow, somewhere. Those letters are really fun and always have people near them or on them.
I'd love for them to keep them. But again, the trouble is where to put them so they'd fit. Although I do like Coheteboy's idea of putting them along the tram route.
the ticket booths near the bus terminal are very rarly used maybe they can romove them and place the letters there

In my opinion, I say get rid of them. They are immensely popular with crowds for photos, and I admit to taking photos next to many a letter myself. However, it just reminds me of an uninspired entrance, and really serves no purpose elsewhere, whether it is inside or outside of the park.
I say get rid of them forever, sell them in an auction, and focus on other icons to reinforce DCA. The old DCA logo was very tacky, but I think Grizzly Peak is a great symbol that management should exploit rather than the "California" that just seems bland to me.

Blargh...I dunno. I guess overall I agree with you, Tomorrowland Tourist...they're popular as photo ops, but they really just need to be done away with. Maybe if they can find a way to sneak one of them into a new attraction or area as an homage to the past, that'd be cool, but not the whole display. It's just too big and uninspired.
I say they should donate them to the state of California with the exception that they place them on the side of a freeway as you enter California.![]()

I'm more concerned about the mosaic mural at the entrance than the letters to be honest.
I'd say remove the letters out of the park, unless you could find an appropriate spot for them, and I can't think of one. Keep in mind that they do take up a lot of real estate, as all the letters should remain accessible to guests at ground level as they are now.
I do like the fact that the letters are popular for taking photos with. I like the details on the pavement around them, and they were built pretty well, considering that they've endured countless guests standing and climbing about on them.
Take your pictures of it while you still can.
Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson
Until they fix DCA, just the "C-O-N" and the "L-I-A-R" are appropriate. After the fully rehab is completed, they can bring back the other letters.
