2008 Disneyland Resort - Wonders and Blunders

2008 is coming to a close, and the Disneyland resort has seen several NEW additions, updates, and changes. So, it's time for you to review the year. OF the NEW things, tell us what you think were the Biggest successes ~ "Wonders" Then let us know what you think missed the mark ~ "Blunders".

Tell us what was Wonderful, and then tell us what was Blunderful

Wonderful - Toy Story Midway Mania - the attraction itself
Blunderful - having the TSMM queue right next to the noisiest part of the "CA Screamin' ride

Wonderful - Mr. Potatohead and his interaction with guests

Wonderful - The look of the new monorails
Blunderful - the lack of air conditioning/proper ventilation in the cabins, and the other issues that still have not been resolved with the new fleet.

Blunderful? The 'Dream Home' in Innoventions which was already an extended advertisement.
Wonderful? The new 'walk-through' in Sleeping Beauty's castle.

Wonderful? The enhancements to Innoventions and the Dream House. Makes it actually worth going into (when it rains)
Blunderful? That Innoventions is now 10 years old.

Wonderful? The Sleeping Beauty Castle Walk-Through. Something that isn't going to bring alot of guests to the park, but one of those little touches that makes Disneyland great. Kudos on brining it back!!!
Blunderful? Taking away a nice quiet area of the park that was open to ALL guests (Ariels Grotto) and making it so the only way you can see this area of the park is to wait in an hour long line to see Tinkerbelle.

Agree totally with you.

I'd like to add TSMM. For me it's a draw. I'm not rally that crazy about the ride itself (a video game on a track). But the archetecture does wonders to the theme of Paradise Pier.

Wonderful: TSMM
Wonderful: the Blue Sky Cellar and the future plans for DCA (don't know if they're all going to be wonderful in execution yet, but I'm excited for the upgrades)
Blunderful: I know some people like them but personally I don't like the snow flake sculptures on top of the entrance to DL. I just think they look out of place.
Blunderful: The fact that the 50 year film with Steve Martin is STILL playing in the Opera House.

First Disneyland Trip: Oct. 1989
Mandatory first ride: POTC
Mandatory food: Clam chowder in bread bowl & a churro (not at the same time though)
Next trip goals:
1) Ride the Casey Jr. Circus Train. I didn't get around to it on this past trip.
2) Get over to TSI.
3) Try a jalapeņo/cheese pretzel. Yummy!
