It's probably the same, but with updated jokes.

Yes, Genie's got some new jokes. I could tell you what some of them are, but then how much fun would that be when you go see the show?

LOL....no, I don't want to know the jokes! Was just curious if anything was changed or improved about the show. Not that it needs improving! I just found out I'll be able to see the show today cause my best friend called and wanted to go to DL!!! Yay! I can't wait!!!

They need a Hunchback of Notre Dame show in there!

I love Aladdin and it's a great musical, but I just want something new.

I'm still gonna go see it!

I did notice some small, minor changes that some people weren't paying attention to.

    Re: Aladdin's Return

I've tried to edit together a decent video of the show so my Mom can see it (she's not that mobile anymore). Those ones on YouTube are horrible and I really wanted something better. I had to shoot the show lots of times to get a decent result so I know that show backwards and forwards. I saw some minor lighting changes during some of the dark parts when Aladdin "walks" downward into the Cave Of Wonders. Some other lighting was a teeny bit different. Of course, that could have just been new lights which were brighter than the old ones.

Otherwise, the show was the same as the old one. That's a good thing in my opinion. Of course, the jokes were updated. I drive up from San Diego so I'm glad the "Buy her a gas card" joke no longer makes sense.

    Re: Aladdin's Return

I just saw the last two shows (yes, I said "just") and I hadn't seen this particular Genie or Carpet before. But from what I've seen, some of the characters used to have standard shifts for each day of the week. I normally saw one particular Genie (not so heavy) and Carpet (the extremely cute Asian one) for the last two shows on Friday. Then I'd get another Genie (the really heavy one) and the same Carpet for the last two shows on Saturday. It was pretty consistent when it came to Genies and Carpets this Summer. The other characters changed more often. Most of the cast was the same for the first two shows. Then the cast changed for the last two shows.

All in all, this summer I got video of three Aladdins, three Jasmines, four Genies, three Carpets, three Jaffars, etc. So it's going to take a while to figure out which of the old cast have come back.

Most of the cast from yesterday's last two shows were familiar so many of them have come back.

    Re: Aladdin's Return

I only noticed a few lighting diferences. But, I wasn't expecting much to be different. My understanding was that they were updating the
infrastructure of the show (trading out the rented stuff for their own and such), so we shouldn't really notice any changes.
