Re: Why are there so many number 42's in DL?

I've always just assumed they were a H2G2 reference. I've even tried finding a 42 in the Star Tours queue, with all the numbers around there I haven't found one yet.

Re: Why are there so many number 42's in DL?

Now I'm a huge Hitch Hiker's fan, so when I started noticing 42s in pictures I thought I was just noticing it because it stands out as "the answer". I started trying to collect pictures, but haven't noticed any since.

BUT now someone else who says they knew nothing of Hitch Hiker's brings it up? Now I'm wondering...
    Disney FAQ#275: What is DCA?
DCA stands for Disney Construction Area. All the Cast Members are themed with hard hats and steel toed boots.

In my 40 years of going to DL I have never noticed this.

    Maybe when I'm 42!

    42 is the answer

I found the above to be a pretty legitimate answer. I haven't read the book, either, but it seems like as good an answer as any.

If you're going to read one, you should read all 5. They are one big, interconnected, hilarious, deep and rather insightful story and should be read together.

No... all 5 at once. Each chapter 1, then each chapter 2... lol. That would be so confusing.

This thread has me wondering if there are other nerd/geek references throughout the parks.

Is the head chef of any of the eating places listed as Stavro Mueller? (another h2g2 ref)

Oddly enough, you posted this exactly 42 years after Walt Disney's Death... If you look deeper, you might find some other reasons the number "42" is significant to Walt Disney.

This completely excites me. My DH is not looking forward to our trip in 10 days. He is not a DL fan....he is however a HUGE HHG2TU fan. Now I can give him something Geeky to lookforward to. Thank you Micechat!

That is SUPER spooky!!! Maybe Uncle Walt wanted me to bring it up.
