Well, I'm sick which is lame
I just got my car fixed which is also lame but good.
It's 50-ish degrees outside and has been raining all day which is nice
My finals are over which is really good!
And now it's time for a trip report... which I hope is another good thing
(also, extra points if anyone can guess what song I stole my title for my TR from)
Yes, it was time for Darkwing Chuck and I to visit the Land o' Disney during the holidays cause we're cool like that... yeah... cool... *shifty eyes*
Anyway, Thursday morning we took off (at a reasonable hour for once) California bound. We reached the park by about 1pm and were sent up up up up to the top of the parking structure above all the cars we dashed away dashed away dashed away all... or something like that.
It was the first time both of us had ever parked at the tippy top so we immortilized it with lame arm length shots of ourselves (cause that's what we cool kids do.)
It was peculiar how high up we were
And apparently we weren't too happy about the height
Our first stop of the day was DCA because we were on a super secret mission. As to not give away anything I will speak in some code: We had to save the uppets-may who were lost in ime-tay. Unsen-Bay and Eaker-Bay sent us secret instructions to escue-ray em-they from 1937-ay?
Our first clue led us to the yperion-hay. This was me being super sneaking and running to the other side of the fenced off courtyard
The next clue led us to the orcerer's-say orkshop-way.
I was very very committed to helping those guys. See the determination in my face :P
Where would our next clues lead us?
After finishing all our assignments and helping save the Muppets and time as we know it, we were awarded with a pretty cool prize. Plus we had to show off that we were nerds w/ Chuck's Back to the Future Shirt and my Kermit shirt... get it cause it's Muppets and time travel... we might need lives(All kidding aside, the Time Rewinder quest was a whole lot of fun and I hope Disney keeps doing things like this in the future
)
Since we were on that side of the park, we first headed to get a tortilla. Inside the preshow we ended up quoting much of the video w/ a group of people we didn't know. By the end we were all laughing so hard we were crying and people that had no idea what was going on just stared at us :P
We then went up to Mania. The empty hole known as Paradise Pier was fairly unnerving and makes the place look like the desert. I really wish they'd put some kind of walls around the area like they do when they drain the Rivers of America. it just looks so weird!
On our way back to ride Tower of Terror, we ran into the Delta Daddy-O's. These guys are great!
Outside of Tower we met a friendly monster who scared because he cared
And we went on his attraction... Roz was ready for the holidays(on another note: how long have they had the doors open on holiday themes, the one's with the yeti and george and all that. It was really neat and I've never seen it before!)
the moon was almost full over the land of Tomorrow
This trip we decided to do somethings we don't often do. First stop was Sleeping Beauty's Castle (which is AMAZING! But i'll get to that later) then on to the Carousel
We were excited... I think...
Okkay, well at least I was
Chuck was pensive (?)
The 8th Wonder of the World... the top of our heads!
After a walk past the Reindeer Roundup and some giggling about elves (which was a theme for the trip and one I plan not to explain) we wanted to go to Big Thunder. As we rounded the bend, Darkwing Chuck saw the Mark Twain was running (b/c there was no Fantasmic). We had tried to go on the Twain at night several times this year but kept running out of time, so we hurried over to the dock.
Even cooler than getting to go was that we talked our way up into the Wheel House! First time I had ever been up there
The Castle & the Matterhorn from the wheel house (this pic does no justice!!)
(neither does this one)
One blurry iso-y shot. The best one I took
Look at me, driving a boat
After some Big Thunder and I think Mansion... honestly I don't remember what we did, but eventually we decided to try to watch Believe! b/c we were afraid it might get winded or rained out if we waited til later in the trip.
Some shots of Sleeping Beauty's Castle... cause lord know we never see enough of those :P
A very chilly Kuzcochik (me freezing ended up being another theme of the trip)
And here are a bunch of Believe in Holiday Magic shots. I'm really proud of these
We also decided the song for Believe is one of the dumbest ever. Especially because of the line "Remember the Candy!" which is sung w/ such heartfelt emotion that it becomes ridiculous! Anyway...
My absolute favorite shot
The castle exploded as it often does at the end of a fireworks show and then it started snowing. Now while the Believe song may be lame, that version of "White Christmas" always chokes me up.
But with that we reach the end of Day #1... oh, but don't worry, there are 3 more days to come. Huzzah! And (since I'm apparently in a weird mood) you can expect more weirdness soon![]()
