Question What does the Hollywood Backlot need?

So for me anyway it seems like (besides bug land, if you call that a land) that I stay in Hollywood the least of the time of the big three parts of the park. So what rides/attractions do you think they should add to make Hollywood a better land?

    I have a couple of idea's

    1) Bolt Dark ride (based off the "Bolt" show not a dar ride of the movie, like how the Buzz ride is based off the adventure of Buzz and not toy story.
    2) Disney's philharmagic/Kingdom Hearts 3D show
    3) The Great movie ride (not clone but more of a new adaption of the ride)

I would say Rocking Rollercoaster but as of right now their is not enough room (unless they destroy bugsland)

So what rides/attractions do you think would improve the backlot?

I'll one up the Great Movie Ride idea and say combine the MuppetVision Theater, and the old Millionaire building and there's more than enough room for "The Great MUPPET Movie Ride"

Other than that, a Bolt ride would be interesting. A Kingdom Hearts show, not so much, most people aren't that familiar with those characters.

^and Song of the South Characters are? Splash Moutain is huge and kids dont know what Song of the South is. Also HM and pirates both great ride, and no one knew about the characters before entering. Plus they could have a pre-show and tell you about the events in the VG games.

Yeah, but POTC and HM are all original characters that originated in those rides. Thats why the kingdom hearts seri3es is so popular, because they originated there. And Splash, for most people now, thats where they originated as well. They knew some, but not too much for SM to be a movie based ride.

I just think that a video game ride can and would be a total fail.

I'm honestly not sure. I'm not too fond of the idea of the theme in the first place, but it's kind of important, considering the theme of the whole park. Perhaps a more historical/legendary perspective would have been wiser. As things are...it's just kind of a mishmash, and I'm not sure how to fix it.

finally, someone also wants to put in The Great Muppet Movie Ride, but they should keep Monster's Inc. back there.

It needs more Hollywood and less Backlot.

Agreed. The name will be changing...but will the idea of the land change accordingly?

That's easy. Just throw in some face characters dressed up to resemble homeless people, drug dealers, and street walkers and things would start to look fairly convincing.

Bah! you and the same hobo joke about hollywood!

I mean hollywood... as in the glitz and the glamor that it once was. Hollywood used to mean something in Walt's day. It certainly wasn't a joke that it is now and I think that land would be great to showcase history as well as modern fun.

I'm not here to pitch what disney movie properties would be a good fit because ultimately, a good land will create the perfect opportunities for great attractions... movie based or not.

Re: What does the Hollywood Backlot need?

I actually like the idea of a Bolt themed ride...it could be like in the perspective of the show instead of the movie..but if we were to go with a more historical Hollywood type of thing..I think that that whole seperate area with Monsters inc and muppets could become a studio themed area...like the Disney studio in the 30's. Except it would be a jazzed up version of it, The architecture would be similar and it would capitalize on the more exciting aspects of the old studio's architecture.

There coud be a train like the one Walt had in his backyard and had in the studio for the Alice in Wonderland episode of world of color. That mini train could board like a people mover with a moving platform and it could go all around the "studio" and go into buildings with views of AA animators doing their jobs and such and have it show you the process of animation, like going through the recording studio, story meetings, and the inking and painting buildings, maybe with a few interactive touches and "things gone wrong" it could be cool.

There could be some sort of a Great Movie Ride... A Marry Poppins darkride could be cool also, and an incarnation of The Rockin' Roller coaster..as well as a classy Hollywood themed resteraunt somewere.
