1-day trip from where?
Distance is part of my complicated algorithm.

Spring Break is concentrated around Easter. Easter is later. You should be fine. A little busier than off-season: About a 5 or 6 on my crowd factor (Spring Break will be 7 or 8).
Friday means night will be a lot busier than the day. Get there early, enjoy your whole birthday.

Honestly, with how the economy is right now I don't think there will be many days that it is busy. I think it will be mostly those that have passes. And maybe those that still have jobs.

Re: When Will it Be Busy at Disneyland - 2009 Edition

Okay, here's the dumb question of the day: How busy is it the week before Christmas, as compared to the week between Christmas and New Years (which I know is crazy busy)? We're thinking Dec 19-26 (I know the 24th, 25th and 26th will be crazy). Deluxe isn't blocked out until the 24th so does that mean the 20th-23rd should be okay?

We've been to DL in April (NOT around Easter), mid-May, 1st week of June, several varying times in October, once after Thanksgiving, and once the 2nd week of December. All seemed to be very acceptable times for us to be there. Have we been spoiled by nicer times? We've never tried around a holiday before, but may have to now since it's terribly difficult to pull the older kids out of high school. We are very familiar with Fastpass, and would probably do the arrive at rope drop, leave mid-day for nap or break, come back until mid-night thing.

Anyway, I know it's a tough thing to answer since it will be busy. Just trying to get a feel for what "busy" really means--we've never been stuck somewhere in Disneyland unable to move Of course, stuck at Disneyland is better than stuck at work or school, right? Any insight is appreciated. THANKS!

Dave

Next year, rush will start Friday 12/18. If post-Christmas days are a 10 on my scale, expect these to be at least 7-8. About the same as pre-holiday weekends.
Only reason it's a little lighter is that most people are preparing for Christmas and cannot get away. Shopping (though some will go to DL for shopping), buying food, etc. After Christmas there is a huge open time with nothing to do.

Re: When Will it Be Busy at Disneyland - 2009 Edition

Hi
Planning on a June 21-24th trip. Arrive evening of 21st (Father's day) and having all day Mon/Tues in the park possibly few hours on Wed before we leave. Is it true that Monday's are always a bit more busy because of some carryover from the weekend?

thanks

Not a problem. You have a good trip to DL.....eventually.
Your trip's attendance will also be influenced by the economy, which might differ from today's expectation. Also, by who'd playing in the Rose Bowl and whether they travel before or after Christmas (it's a todd-up).

I am making generalized guesses, and people who know better can correct me.

About a 4.

What about Feb 22-24 (Sunday - Tuesday)?

I am hoping for light crowds since most kids will be in school.

Hope so since I'm going tomorrow and I want no lines for Small World and Nemo.
