I was thinking a full day at Disneyland on the thursday and doing DCA on the saturday?
What kind of crowds can I expect, que times?

Thanks
The 7th might of Sept might pick up.
The 40th B-day Merch. Event for HM is 9/9/09, so you'll have lots of Mansion fans there for the event (tickets sold out w/in hours, so plan for lots of people). I plan to be there before the event.

I don't think this special event will "pack in" that many more guests. Couple thousand more, at most. If more, then it will not be a special event at all. Hard to tell which way they are heading with this.

I'm wondering about 3/8. I've noticed hotel prices are higher than usual that day. Any thoughts on why?

Not sure how many other schools are bundling up "teacher prep days" with holidays. Might be busier than usual. Weather will affect that, though.
I have it off, which explains my questioning. Darn Orange Unified School District!

FYI, rain in the forecast this weekend. Should be good for a slow park.

I think the first post states that if kids are off school, expect it to be busy.
It has to be a lot of kids, true.

Except it's a four-day holiday weekend with a lot of out-of-towners.

I'm going Monday, 16th. It's supposed to rain hard Sunday, so perhaps people will stay away on Monday, despite the holiday? LOL. We've got reservations for the Blue Bayou, which will be strange, without the POC ride running.

Re: When Will it Be Busy at Disneyland - 2009 Edition

POTC is not closed this weekend. It would just be stupid to have one of the highest capacity rides out during the busy holiday weekend

There was talk the ride would be closed next week, I think it's going to be open. Has anyone heard otherwise?

The following information is per the local automated information line to the Disneyland Resort which can be reached locally at 714-781-4565, 24 hours a day. To reach a live person, you may also call locally 714-781-7290 between 7am and 6pm, pacific standard time. Please also visit the website disneyland.com and view their schedule which reflects ride closures.

Main Street Vehicles closed on 2/17.

Matterhorn Bobsleds closed 2/23 - 2/27, 3/2 - 3/6, & 3/9 - 3/13.

Goofy's Playhouse closed 2/23 - 3/20.

Mark Twain Riverboat closed 3/9 - 3/11.

King Arthur's Carousel closed 3/10 - 3/12.

Over at DCA:

The Sun Wheel & Boardwalk Games closed now thru April 22nd (could be subject to change as is the same for any ride listed on the closure list.)

So to answer your question, Pirates of the Caribbean is not scheduled to close any time soon.

Re: When Will it Be Busy at Disneyland - 2009 Edition

So I read through the first page, but I sure ain't going to read all 8. And it's sparking a thought in my head. The crowd levels have definitly gone up steadily every year. Everyone always complains that Disneyland keeps jacking up their prices. Can anyone remember the days in the mid 80's when it was only like around $23 to get in to the park? (Cue "All in the Family" song here) But the ever rising prices don't seem to deter anyone from buying tickets, does it? So is that "people will always pay to get in, no matter the price" so Disney continues to raise them? Or is it the other way around? Basically, even though it's so pricey, the crowd levels go up each year. At least that's the take I have on it.
