This is when we are going I cannot wait, I really hope the weather is decent.

We will be there Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri (my birthday!), I am hoping as we are not there on the weekend, it won't be TOO busy

Any input on March 8th DCA March 9th and 10th DL

I know its 2fer time at Disney, but is this a good time to go? We have been soooo spoiled in the past. We always go when it is icreadably slow at Disneyland. We usually go in September and the week after Thanksgiving. Perfect times to go. What do ya say about the 8th-10th of March? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I wish I had the right answers but when I think its not busy it is. I went last Thursday for the first time on a Thursday expecting it to be light crowds cos it wasnt a weekend or summer or winter break. Alas, it felt like it was a Sat. DL even extended their closing hours. It was crazy for me.

Tough to say. You could probably expect light to minimal crowds on Thursday 3/5, and moderate during the weekend. But as another person posted on here recently, any of what's expected can be changed. Someone went to the park during the middle of the week about a week or two ago, and was met with weekend size crowds.

I would say that no matter what the crowd sizes are, don't focus on the crowds, if it is crowded, don't complain about them because that will just ruin your trip. Just relax, enjoy yourselves, and have fun. Large crowds and long lines are why Disney created the FastPass system. On the weekend, use it wisely. Either hit the popular rides first like the mountain range, and either pick a fast pass up at the same time, or just grab a pass and go to something else. And in case you don't know, though the fast passes give you an hour time slot to return, you can actually return ANY TIME after that 1 our time slot, just not before the first time listed.

A couple other things to keep in mind about the FP system. The rides in DCA and the rides in Disneyland are on separate systems. So you can have a pass for Screamin, and a pass for Space Mountain at the same time. Also, there was a ride or two within Disneyland that wasn't on the same FP system as the other main rides were on, and on a separate system themselves. Not sure if this glitch is still in existance or not, and if it is, which one or two rides are still separate. Unfortunately, I can't remember what one or two rides those were. Perhaps there's someone here in the know that could list them, or offer an update. I know there is a FastPass thread on here, but it's a 7+ page thread, and I ain't goin thru that.

According to my scale (0-10, 0=empty, 10=full) and my haphazard guessing:
Thursday: 4
Friday 5-6
Saturday: 7.

Re: When Will it Be Busy at Disneyland - 2009 Edition

We are looking at a potential visit Sun March 22-Wed Mar 25. I am not seeing a lot of local or AZ spring breaks that week, but maybe I'm wrong. We are also considering a push to mon-thurs or tues-fri of same week. Thoughts would be greatly appreciated on how busy this week could be, 2 young kids 6 and 3. Thanks!

March is usually pretty safe, at least when you compare it to times like June and December. :-) Are you looking at spring breaks for both colleges AND elementary/secondary schools? Because they don't always align.

But with so many days at your disposal, you should be fine -- especially since you're not traveling on Friday and Saturday. I think Sunday through Wednesday is fairly safe -- plus with that many days, you get your Early Entry which is FABULOUS! If you play your cards right, you can do the entirety of Fantasyland before the park "officially" opens and be headed on to other rides by the time most people are even entering the parks. (Just be sure you know ahead of time which days are even available for early entry.)

I will be coming down there April 24-29. I know that it spans a weekend and those days will be busy, but I was wonderiing if anyone else has been during this time of year. I will be taking my family for the first time including my 5 year old who has never been. He has a huge list of things he wants to make sure that he sees and gets to do.

Re: When Will it Be Busy at Disneyland - 2009 Edition

Also, is there anywhere besides the Disnley web site that I can find the hours for April 24-29? I looked and they only have the hours posted until April 8 or so.

Re: When Will it Be Busy at Disneyland - 2009 Edition

I'll be heading down there tomorrow (Feb 27th) with some of my friends, any reason why it would be crowded?
Also is there anywhere in DCA where they have posted ride wait times like they do across the way at Disneyland?
