Re: When Will it Be Busy at Disneyland - 2009 Edition

We are heading in from Reno on March 8 for a five day stay. I realize it's very hard to predict crowd sizes and I see it has been somewhat surprisingly busy during the week. Are there any large conventions or events happening that week. Also, what are the typical weather patterns for that time of the year. Any information to help us navigate our stay would be greatly appreciated.

Also is there anywhere in DCA where they have posted ride wait times like they do across the way at Disneyland?
This morning, the weathercasters are going on and on about what a beautiful, perfect day we're going to have today and tomorrow (Friday & Saturday). That guarantees lots of people.

DCA ride wait times are not posted, but at the information booth they can usually tell you if you ask. It's located on the right hand side after you pass under the Golden Gate Bridge, as you enter Sunshine Plaza.

I am going to DL is 8 days, so i'm hoping for warm weather (warm meaning 50 or above). I gotta get away from the cold!

Re: When Will it Be Busy at Disneyland - 2009 Edition

Hey, I'm going Monday 3/2 to celebrate my wife's birthday. How will it be?

Wait a minute....I'm supposed to know that already!! It will be great, no one will be there, walk-on to all rides....

Well, it had better be, sedi, or I'll hunt you down like the dog you are.

You might get 20 minutes, maybe 30 at most on Monday or Tuesday.
You wetre correct ... thank you!

Re: When Will it Be Busy at Disneyland - 2009 Edition

^ You actually should be okay. The 11th will certainly be the least busy of the two days though as it's a Monday.

Then again, there was no warning for the cheer thing this weekend (it wasn't on the Convention Center website) and from all reports the parks were insane.

Gregg,

It wasn't on the convention center website because it took place at the Hyperion Theater in DCA. I was there both Saturday and Sunday and it was a ZOO. I wish Disney would give out this info, I would have changed my plans. It was like a summer holiday weekend both days. Add the near 90 degree heat to the equations and a 40,000 person convention across the street and BAM! Aargh!

Re: When Will it Be Busy at Disneyland - 2009 Edition

It seems to me with the birthday promotion and 2fer everyday has been a summer day. As I stated before I was there in mid-February on a Tues-Thur and it was like a summer. So anyone heading to disneyland should expect businer than normal days.

Mid-March?

I'll be visiting DLR between March 15th - March 20th. From my research it doesn't appear like it will be TOO busy. None of the California School District have break at that time and no major conventions going on either.

Only possible problem I can possibly see is that USC has spring break during the same week...

Any opinions?

Re: When Will it Be Busy at Disneyland - 2009 Edition

Just a head's up... The 2009 Natural Products Expo West convention will be taking over the Convention Center from 03/06/09-03/08/09. Over 50,000 people attending! Plus, Crowne Plaza, Hilton Suites, Anaheim Hilton, and Anaheim Marriott are completely sold out per their websites!

I was trying to Priceline a room for Sat. night and had no luck. Started reading up on why so busy and the above is what I came up with. Probably going to be VERY busy at DL. Really disappointed... we were on our way down 2 Saturdays ago and I had to go to the emergency room, instead. And Scot Bruce will be performing this weekend, and I don't want to miss him!

Any thoughts?
