Re: When Will it Be Busy at Disneyland - 2009 Edition

It was NUTS today around 5 pm when I got the bright idea to just stroll into Off The Page in DCA to pick up a gift for my GF's birthday this weekend.

First sign of trouble I saw was the 50 foot line just to get past the bag check, then the 50 foot lines to get into DCA itself. It's Tuesday....gonna be a BUSY summer. Bring a book.

Was planning to take her to dinner this weekend at the BB (even made reservations) but now I'm certainly reconsidering. I think I might just take her to the Improv or something.

We went on Tuesday, June 16. THE HORROR!

We got to Toy Story Mania 28 minutes after the park opened and the line was an hour long. It was pretty crowded all day, but we still had fun hitting shows and less popular rides.

I will verify that I have only noticed any humidity in S. California on a few occasions, and when I did I found it to be an exciting novelty that reminded me of Florida.

I'm starting to wimper! I'm suppose to join my family at the Parks on Monday night after work.... but it sounds like it is going to be a nightmare to park!

Re: When Will it Be Busy at Disneyland - 2009 Edition

Damn. I was really planning on Going Father's day...but with a 2 hour round trip drive I'm wondering if it's worth it. Are there any better resources like twitter or blogs that talk about the current crowd at the park so we can check before we head out Sunday AM?

Thanks guys for all the updates! We were thinking of upgrading out APs to deluxe for the summertime but forget it!!!

You guys now have me reconsidering my plan to go Wednesday(June 24). My mom wanted to go and see the stuff but I don't know if it will be worth it with the electric wheelchair rental and the crowds when we were just going to go in the evening.

Re: When Will it Be Busy at Disneyland - 2009 Edition

I went yesterday afternoon. Getting off the 5 freeway there was a sign right there telling you the parks are busy. Traffic was backed up to where you get off the freeway. Pulling into the lot they parked people right to the side of the entrance of the M&F Structure. That was around 2. I didn't like the way they were parking cars, so they left room next to my car so I wouldn't get dinged. I come back after a couple hours and I see a car right on top if mine so that my daughter couldn't even get in the car. I left for a little bit. Came back and they had people parked in 4 lanes that are usually used to entrance to the structure. I eneded up parking on Donald and drove around till I found a decent spot. The first time I got there around 2 the said Disneyland was at full capacity. They pushed Ca Adventure on everyone. It was really really busy! I stayed till around 11:30 and around then it finally died down. But then again, the park closed at midnight! lol If you are planing on going to the park, I suggest lots and lots of patience and time.

Re: When Will it Be Busy at Disneyland - 2009 Edition

I'm holding out hope that the blackout dates of all the non-preem AP's will make the difference in crowd capacity for this Saturday.

I'm going forth on my original course to take my baby to DL for her birthday. I weighed all the options and this seems preferable seeing as how I already have reservations at the BB and there's some b-day Fastpasses in the deal according to Guest Relations. She loves the park even more than myself......so it shall be written - so it shall be done.

If you are complaining about crowds, then by all means upgrade to Deluxe. The park is emptier on days when SoCal is blocked. Seriously - Easter and President's Day this year were two of the best, least crowded Sundays of the year.

Re: When Will it Be Busy at Disneyland - 2009 Edition

Hi guys, I'm coming for a one day visit to Disneyland in July and am trying to decide between two dates. I know July is one of the craziest months, but that's the only time I can go. So... the dates are either Monday July 6 or July 13.
1. Is the 6th to close to 4th of July?
2. What about weather?
3. How is parking going to be?
If you have any opinions and would like to share them I would greatly appreciate it!

I've got a question. How is the wait for the Toy Story Mania single ride line as compared to the regular standby line? For example if you have an hour wait for the regular line, how long can you expect to wait in the single rider line?

Probably no more than ten minutes. Usually less.
