Toy Story Midway Mania's line was rarely above 20 minutes yesterday. It has not been crowded the past week.

I'm going from July 27th to July 31st. I am not a local (from Seattle area). I am curious, with AP's blacked out and with the recession, are there signs that the parks summer attendance is lower than usual? I read reports that the 4th of July was a less crowded than usual.

Absolutely.

The park has been noticeably less crowded since the SoCal APs went on block-out.

On July 4th, the longest line was Splash Mountain and it rarely went above 60 minutes, although the park was packed in the evening for people watching the fireworks, but lines were short.

I have noticed significantly shorter lines compared to even early June, and I'm there at least weekly, typically Sundays.

Late August, IMO, will be a madehouse when the SoCal APs unblock.

Thinking of going this Sat 7/11. Bringing my parents who have not been since 1993! I know Al said that even a Sat in July will not be crowded due to AP black out dates. How realistic is this? How crowded should I expect it to be this Sat? Manageable?

I'm guessing manageable. There will still be a good sized crowd, too big for an off-season midweek guy like me. But not a gate-closing size. Again, go early, hit the attractions that you must go on, maximize fastpass to the hilt, and it's gravy after that.

I arrived at Disneyland this morning at 10:30 and left at 12:30 and I couldn't believe how uncrowded it was. The longest wait time listed on the board as I was leaving was 50 minutes for Space Mountain and Splash Mountain. Everything else was under that. It was even easy to walk by Jungle Cruise and Indy. Wow.
