November 20th is the official first day of the Disneyland Christmas Celebration, so it will be busy with locals (AP holders) coming to check out the new stuff.

It is also the start of Thanksgiving Week, and Disney will be operating at maximum hours and entertainment due to the expected large crowds.

The Christmas Version of the Fireworks with the Snow effect will be offered nightly starting the 20th.

In the latest Photo update it said the park would be crowded the next few weeks so whn in September and October will it be least crowded. Because I heard those are the least crowded months at the end of the year.

This sunday will probably be one of the busiest days since spring. On top of being the first day for SoCal APers to return to the park, There is a POH pin release in the morning. I would stay away from the park.

Re: When Will it Be Busy at Disneyland - 2009 Edition

Slow days, the weekdays between Labor Day (Sept. 7th) and Halloween Time (Sept. 25th), most kids are in school, and it is usually very slow on weekdays.

Now weekends are busy year round, as many locals take advantage of their Annual Passes.

October can get busy during the week, as school districts start giving vacations, for example, the State of Utah get a week off early in the month due to the fact that the teachers need to attend a major conference.

But you can find it will be hit or miss.

Disney actually expands its operating hours for the weekdays the Utah students get off, it gets that busy.

I wonder what will happen with the fireworks from Nov.1 until the 20th?

Do you think they will show the Halloween version until they switch over to Christmas?

My guess, either no fireworks, or something like Magical on weekends only.

Re: When Will it Be Busy at Disneyland - 2009 Edition

I went last night, Friday night, ocean breeze, so it was cool in the evening. Fireworks show was missing Dumbo and Tinkerbell. Wife made $75 on a survey for Disney, but we spent $150! LOL. Crowds were heavy, but pleasant. Five minute wait for Buzz. One must get seats very early for the fireworks show. Bring blanket and sweatshirt for evening Disney shows. Everyone expects monster crowds tomorrow and next week.

The Utah break (UEA) is pretty early this year. It's October 1 and 2.

Re: When Will it Be Busy at Disneyland - 2009 Edition

I would avoid the 1st and 2nd of October due to a holiday that the State of Utah gives its students.

So I would pick the 29th, a Tuesday for the expected least amount of guests in the parks.

I think you already know the answer.
It will be a lot busier than the Thursday and Friday. Mainly, the Th and F should be pretty vacant. But, since holiday parade and snow will be displayed, the weekends bring in the locals.

Re: When Will it Be Busy at Disneyland - 2009 Edition

i'm sure this has already been talked about but I want to go to Disney and Cali Adventures sometime in OCT ( would go in sept but space mtn is closed, and I do kinda wanna see some halloween stuff) Anyways, I want to take advantage of the PP great rate of $100 a night for 4 nights. we would go during the week for 2 days. Probably Tuesday, Wednesday or even Tuesday and Thurs (to take advantage of the early hours) which date would you consider or think would be the least busiest. Or i should ask, which week.

Bellamom, Your best bet would to be in line when the gate opens. If it rains, be ready to dress for the weather, and take advantage of your most excellent fortune. If you're going in December you may get some rain, if lucky. Disneyland seems to emanate magic during holiday seasons. Walt Disney's spirit still walks Main Street street. It's not just fireworks, special effects snow, Dumbo, Tinkerbell, or the Dragon flying above Disneyland. It's Walt Disney.
